The opportunity

By joining the Grid Integration Service team in Germany (GI Service) you are responsible for carrying out the planned maintenance and servicing work of the automation, communication and safety systems as well as all other electrotechnical systems on converter stations as well as offshore platforms.

Hitachi is seeking a Project Engineer (f/m/d) to lead and contribute to the successful execution of complex engineering projects, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to project timelines and budgets.

How you'll make an impact

  • Lead the technical planning, design, development, and implementation phases of assigned engineering projects
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams
  • Oversee and guide junior engineers and technical staff, providing mentorship and technical expertise
  • Develop and review technical specifications, engineering drawings, and other project documentation
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies throughout the project lifecycle
  • Proactively identify and resolve technical challenges and issues that arise during project execution
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and methodologies
  • Prepare and present technical reports and project updates to management and clients
  • Conduct the FST in Sweden (Ludvika)
  • Be part of the commissioning on site (willingness for travelling)


Your background

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Civil, etc.) or a related technical field
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in a technical engineering role, with a strong focus on project execution
  • Proven experience in leading technical aspects of complex engineering projects from conception to completion
  • Demonstrated expertise in relevant engineering principles, tools, and methodologies pertinent to the specific industry
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information clearly
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
