expanding our Darwin operations and seeking experienced, multiskilled plant operators to join our team.

The Opportunity

Due to the continued growth of the business, Black Cat Civil is seeking applications for Cairns based Project Engineers wanting to further develop their management and delivery skills. The successful applicant will join our Projects division, working in a team of Engineers and Supervisors to deliver critical pieces of civil infrastructure for our clients. The role will be based on 2 weeks on, 1 week off FIFO from Cairns.

A market leading remuneration package will be on offer for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities include:

Our Project Engineers will assist the team in key operational activities including but not limited to:

  • Provide vital support to the Project Management Team in all project-related duties.
  • Manage and promote a strong HSE culture, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and striving for the highest safety standards in consultation with site supervisors and the HSE team.
  • Contribute to project programming, updates, and reporting, ensuring milestones are achieved on time
  • Support the Senior Project Manager in determining labour requirements and ensuring all staff are inducted and trained appropriately.
  • Manage subcontractors to achieve project goals related to program, cost, quality and HSE.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of construction projects from start to finish.
  • Ensure projects adhere to budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Conduct site inspections and monitor construction activities.
  • Prepare and review project documentation, including sub-contracts, ITPs, works methodology etc.
  • Prepare detailed work plans, construction schedules, and cost estimates.
  • Mentor and support the Site and Graduate Engineers

This opportunity is ideal for any motivated engineer wanting to build a career with a growing civil contractor. The successful candidate MUST be willing to work in on a FIFO roster, be flexible on locations for future opportunities, go the extra mile and enjoy working in a team environment

  • Post Grad 5 years' experience
  • Significate exposure to earthworks project
  • Signification experience to civil and infrastructure projects
  • Commitment to working at FIFO 2/1 roster
