Job Description

A leading engineering company based in Mullingar is keen to hire a Mechanical Project Engineer to join their growing team. Working across Data Centre, Industrial, Commercial and large Residential projects, you will be responsible for the planning, implementation and tracking of engineering projects from design through to completion, working closely with other Project Engineers, Technical Design Leads and clients. Reporting to the Project Lead, this role offers genuine scope to progress into a Project Manager position for the right candidate. Candidates with a Building Services background are well suited to this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with management to develop project plans, timelines and budgets.
• Oversee the execution of engineering projects, including managing resources and ensuring project deliverables are met.
• Ensure all project activities comply with company policies, procedures and quality standards.
• Monitor project progress and make adjustments as needed to ensure project goals are met.
• Communicate project status to stakeholders, including clients, project team members and senior management.
• Manage project risks and issues, identifying and addressing potential problems before they impact delivery.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
• Participate in project design reviews and provide input on technical issues as needed.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior project engineers as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years' experience in project engineering or a related field.
• Preferred 2 years' experience in Fire and Sprinkler systems design and installation.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong project management skills, including experience with MS Project or similar software.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, project teams and senior management.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
