Job Description

Evac has been a pioneer in sustainable technologies and solutions for decades. Today we are the world’s leading provider of integrated Evac® water, waste and wastewater technologies, Cathelco® corrosion protection and marine growth prevention and HEM® freshwater systems.

Our technologies address the increasing need for innovative solutions driven by the megatrends of climate change, circularity, and increasingly scarce freshwater resources. We contribute to a better environment and cleaner seas by helping our customers eliminate waste, conserve water, mitigate emissions, and lengthen the lifecycle of their vessels or buildings. Together with our 500 colleagues in 14 countries, we strive for a future with no waste.

Do you have a strong marine engineering background and experience managing technical projects within shipyard environments?

We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our Project Management team. This role is ideally suited to a technically strong engineer who understands how shipyards operate, is comfortable engaging directly with customers and vessel operators, and has a genuine interest in process technology and marine systems.

You will take ownership of complex Engineer-to-order (ETO) customer delivery projects, working closely with project managers, engineering teams, customers, shipyards and suppliers to ensure successful project execution through its full lifecycle from sales handover to ship delivery.

This is a hands-on role requiring sound engineering judgement, strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to navigate complex technical discussions in a fast-paced marine environment.

What you will do

As Project Engineer, you will:

  • Own and manage the technical scope of assigned customer projects.

  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers during project execution.

  • Lead technical discussions with shipyards, vessel owners, operators and project stakeholders.

  • Translate customer requirements and specifications into clear engineering deliverables.

  • Develop engineering task breakdowns and technical execution plans.

  • Lead and coordinate activities across process, mechanical, electrical and automation engineering disciplines.

  • Work closely with global engineering teams to ensure designs meet customer and project requirements.

  • Monitor engineering progress, budgets and project milestones, reporting status to Project Managers.

  • Review engineering costs and identify opportunities to improve project performance.

  • Support procurement, production, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and delivery activities.

  • Ensure all project documentation is completed to a high standard and delivered on time.

What we are looking for

We're keen to speak with candidates who combine technical expertise with practical marine industry experience.

  • Proven experience in a marine, shipbuilding or shipyard environment.

  • Experience managing the technical scope of engineering projects.

  • Ability to confidently engage with customers, shipyards and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

  • Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience reviewing technical specifications, documentation and engineering deliverables.

  • Degree qualified in Engineering or a related technical discipline.

  • Background in process engineering, process equipment or industrial systems.

  • Strong understanding of how vessels are designed, constructed, commissioned or maintained.

  • Knowledge of marine wastewater, water treatment, HVAC, environmental or fluid handling systems.

Why this role?

This is an opportunity to join a global engineering organisation delivering innovative technology to the marine industry. You will work on technically challenging projects, collaborate with international teams, take ownership of the technical scope of customer delivery projects and play a key role in ensuring customers receive high-quality solutions that meet demanding operational requirements.

We are particularly interested in candidates who understand the realities of working with shipyards, can build credibility with marine customers and have a genuine passion for engineering and process technology.

If you're a robust, experienced marine engineer looking to take ownership of technical project delivery, we'd love to hear from you.
