Job Description
Audubon is currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our team in our Off Site Office in Ohio. As Project Engineer, you'll lead the technical performance of all engineering phases on a variety of tactical integrity maintenance projects such ILI maintenance digs, cathodic protection system remediation, and asset integrity maintenance remediation. Maintaining focus on continuous improvement and implementing and applying engineering management techniques within our project life cycle process will improve performance, quality and cost control and safety. The ability to collaborate and coordinate with others to provide technical mentorship, identify and resolve sophisticated problems and develop innovative approaches to address issues that have significant cost and schedule impact are keys to success.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for a diverse range of complex assignments requiring the use of experience, innovation and judgment and may direct work of other engineers and/or support staff.
- Plans and conducts own work, exercising substantial latitude for unreviewed decisions.
- Demonstrates technical expertise in specialty, geographic area, or operational function.
- Applies specialized knowledge in the effective completion of projects.
- Prepares and delivers presentations and is able to lead meetings and discussions.
- Anticipates internal/external customer needs; assesses requirements and identifies solutions.
- Maintains a strong understanding of industry and operational requirements.
- Works on a combination of engineering specialties covering more than one discipline.
- Interprets internal/external business challenges and improves products, processes, or services.
- Collaborates with teams to ensure compliance, build improvement plans and meet training needs.
- Champions best practice safety standards.
- Monitors and controls costs and resources associated with projects.
Responsibilities/Expectations:
- Be a quick learner regarding Williams projects processes and execute all efforts while following Williams policies and procedures as well as various laws and codes required for each project.
- Develops engineering execution strategies to meet overall project objectives; works with internal partners on management of quality control and project timeline.
- Coordinates with project team and communicates project drivers; develops approaches to accommodate concerns.
- Partners with contractors and project teams to ensure that technical aspects of the project meet expectations, quality standards, and execution strategy; identifies and implements technical improvements.
- Addresses the technical content of purchase orders to ensure they contain accurate technical and commercial terms.
- Coordinates internal resources to ensure Requests For Information are promptly resolved.
- Develops commissioning plans, closes projects and ensures accurate documentation of files, records, databases, and drawings to meet regulatory requirements.
- Provides technical expertise and recommendations during project standards reviews.
- Accountable for small projects or programs with minimal risks and resource requirements. Interface with consultant engineering firms and internal stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering and minimum five (5) years of progressive engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry including two (2) years in a similar project engineering role (in asset integrity, cathodic protection or corrosion mitigation).
Other Requirements:
- Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills.
- Advanced knowledge of the engineering workflow and Project Life Cycle processes.
- Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to an engineering field.
- Intermediate knowledge of other engineering subject areas design guides and standards.
- Demonstrated ability in interpreting engineering deliverable content as assigned.
- Proficiency with construction & constructability practices relevant to integrity maintenance remediation.
- Strong understanding of processes and procedures for project controls and estimating.
- Strong understanding of industry accepted repairs for integrity maintenance projects.
- Strong understanding of PHMSA regulations code 192 and 195 with relation to integrity maintenance program management.
- Familiar with NDT technologies
- Proficiency of procurement & contract administration, business & financial insight, management techniques & administrative practices.
- Preferred: Experience in Power BI
- Preferred: Experience in Risk Analysis
- Preferred: Lead Certification
- Preferred: Experience in pipeline construction
- Preferred: Experience in system flow analysis
- Preferred: Experience in Aconex
- Preferred: PE certification.
- Preferred: Corrosion control management certification
- Preferred: Asset integrity program management certification
