Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, which we’re calling SpinCo, until the name is unveiled. The spin is planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support SpinCo, which will focus on critical digital infrastructure, delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Project Engineer located in Dundalk, Ireland.

You will work as a key member of the Operations team providing a link between multiple departments, focussing on supporting our Hyperscale customers. The role is a linchpin in the organisation providing coordination of Engineering activities from Sales through to Fabrication & Manufacturing as well as Supply Chain, Projects and Site teams.

A people person capable of maintaining open communications between all levels of the business and external Clients. The role involves planning and coordinating Engineering works such that the effective flow of information is adhered to in order to allow successful completion of multiple concurrent projects.

Projects may include Low Voltage Switchgear, Busduct product ranges and Modular solutions.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Early Client engagement to support the sales team during tender submissions by ensuring technical compliance with relevant standards and regulations and providing guidance on specification CDE and technical submittals.

  • Provide Technical expertise of our Product ranges.

  • Receipt of project handover from Sales and Tendering teams on behalf of the Design Engineering team; both Electrical and Mechanical.

  • Work with the electrical and mechanical design engineering teams to turn successful tenders into deliverable designs and review those designs to confirm the proposed solution.

  • Reviewing project information for completeness to allow Design works to proceed.

  • Coordinate, monitor and take responsibility for the Engineering design programmes.

  • Prepare project-specific design calculations.

  • Facilitate review of Anord Mardix Design and BOM reviews for compliance with Customer requirements before releasing to the business.

  • Liaise with the Procurement team to ensure all material and components are available to facilitate project timelines.

  • Liaise with internal and external customers on design progress and work with relevant colleagues to alleviate any impactful issues.

  • In conjunction with relevant Engineering design and Project Management staff engage with Clients to raise and close out RFI’s & TQ’s as required.

  • Implement required design changes subsequent to receipt of updated Client specifications or designs.

  • Act as the technical point of contact for live projects, supporting Project Management during vendor calls, on-site delivery, and commissioning activities as needed.

  • Work with Production team to provide clarity on queries raised relating to design and coordinate technical information flow between Engineering Design and Production.

  • Liaise with all sections of Production team to ensure information is available or clarified to facilitate smooth implementation of assembly, wiring, testing and quality inspections.

  • Working with Technical and Quality teams to ensure project specific documentation is prepared and available to meet customer requirements and timelines.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Relevant 3rd Level qualification or Electrical trade qualification.

  • 3+ years’ experience in an electrical manufacturing industry such as LV/MV Switchgear, Busduct, UPS, etc.

  • Energy Management, PLC and Automation experience would also be beneficial.

  • Project Management qualifications and skills as well as experience with AutoCAD software

  • Effective problem-solving skills, self-motivated and willing to demonstrate initiative.

  • Working knowledge of BS/IEC standards relating to switchgear and control gear assemblies.

  • Excellent personnel management, organisation and communication skills.

  • Team player with positive attitude and proactive with a strong ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.

  • Operate with a high level of attention to detail.

  • Review and understand schematics, GA plans and projects specifications for Electrical power and control Switchgear and its components.

  • Experience of LV Switchgear including Circuit Breakers, protection relays, energy monitoring.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical power systems and Data Centre operations would be advantageous.

  • Willingness to travel within EMEA region.

  • Fluent in English essential.
