We are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Engineer to join our Infrastructure Services team The successful candidate will support the coordination and supervision of construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered according to design specifications, schedules, quality standards, and HSE requirements. Strong planning, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Review and interpret engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and project requirements to ensure construction activities are executed in accordance with approved designs, standards, and project objectives.
Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities on site, monitoring project progress, contractor performance, workforce productivity, quality, and HSE compliance to achieve project milestones.
Identify, assess, and resolve technical issues encountered during construction, providing practical and cost-effective engineering solutions while providing technical guidance to supervisors and construction teams.
Oversee quality control and construction materials management, including QA/QC inspections, material delivery and storage, consumption monitoring, and timely reporting of non-conformances to minimize waste and ensure compliance.
Support construction planning and resource coordination, including developing schedules, forecasting labour, materials, and equipment requirements, allocating resources, identifying project risks, and implementing appropriate mitigation measures.
The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering
Minimum of 3–5 years of proven experience in construction or engineering projects, preferably within the mining or infrastructure sector.
Familiarity with Chinese construction standards, engineering practices, and drafting requirements.
Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English, both written and spoken.
Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address site challenges effectively.
Sound knowledge of construction methods, materials, engineering principles, and applicable industry standards.
Strong planning, organizational, communication, and coordination skills.
Ability to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Proficiency in relevant engineering, design, and digital tools used in construction and project management.
Willingness to work in Brokopondo on a rotational schedule of 14 days of work followed by 7 days break
If selected, you will be required to submit a Police Clearance Certificate (“Bewijs van Goed Gedrag”). Please initiate the request at your respective District Commissariat.
