WATER QUALITY PLATFORM

Water Quality (‘WQ”) Platform is part of the Environmental & Applied Solutions reporting segment and is a global leader in water quality analysis and treatment, providing instrumentation and disinfection systems to help analyze and manage the quality of ultra-pure water, portable water, wastewater, groundwater, and ocean water in residential, commercial, industrial, and natural resource applications. Our water quality business provides products under a variety of brands, including Hach, Trojan Technologies, McCrometer and ChemTreat. WQ Asia has sales offices in India, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

Hach Malaysia Water Quality Platform, a part of the Hach Company, is a leader in manufacturing and distributing analytical instruments and reagents used to test water quality and other liquid solutions. In response to the rapidly expanding reagent in water test business in Malaysia, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Water Quality Malaysia Group as a Project Engineer.

We are looking for a project engineer to oversee end‑to‑end project execution, ensuring safe, timely delivery of instrumentation and monitoring solutions through strong technical, stakeholder and HSE coordination.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage project scope review, planning, and execution from project award through completion to ensure all client deliverables are met.

  • Preparation of documents submission for final approval during initial Project Execution Stage for ex: Analyzer Testing Procedures, drawings submissions from draft to as built, technical datasheets and final documentation.

  • Preparation of Health, Safety and Environment Planning for Project Executions and submit all relevant documentations (JSA, JMS, HSE Plan) according to customer’s safety laws and regulations.

  • Review and approve drawings and all documentations in project related activity from vendors and contractors before submitting for final approval to end users.

  • Conduct kick-off meetings, progress meetings and technical evaluations discussions with client for every secured project.

  • Perform site visits and walkabouts with client before installation executions.

  • Track project performance by developing project plans to monitor progress so that jobs completed within deadline.

  • Attend to client’s queries about products supplied in scope of process instrumentation, installation and commissioning procedures.

  • Plan, coordinate and assist in performing internal testing and Factory Acceptance Test of sampling system integrated with instruments based on project scope of work.

  • Responsible in being a safety advocate for site execution works that requires many standard procedures to be adhered (inspections, safety trainings, installation job safety review discussion etc).

  • Provide Project Status Update and reports to management and stakeholders.

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical / Mechanical / Instrumentation / Chemical or related field).

  • With 2-3 years’ experience in handling Proposals/ Documentation / Tender Bidding/ Project Execution/ Engineering Support and Site Coordination.

  • Basic knowledge in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, PLC/HMI software, SCADA or DCS systems.

  • Knowledge in installation, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting activities.

  • Able to read and understand technical drawings, P&ID, datasheets, and project specifications.

  • Good communication and coordination skills with customers, vendors and internal teams.

  • Familiar with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Able to prepare project documentation, reports, schedules, and technical presentations.

  • Above average written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proactive and action oriented, with strong problem-solving abilities.

  • Customer focused and strong interpersonal and communications skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-moving, ever-changing environment and able to effectively deal with difficult situations.

  • Willing to travel and work at site when required.

  • Possess valid driving license.
