Job Description

Project Engineer

Adelaide | Full-time | Site-based (Global Travel)

At MaxMine, we’re helping mining operations work smarter through data-driven insights that improve productivity, safety, and sustainability. Our technology sits at the intersection of heavy industry and real-time data, deployed on mining equipment around the world, delivering impact where it matters most.

We’re looking for a Project Engineer to join our Site Operations team. Someone who is ready to step up fast, take ownership, and deliver outcomes.

About the role

You’ll lead the deployment of MaxMine systems at mining operations across Australia and internationally, from planning and coordination through to boots-on-the-ground execution. You’ll be the person on-site making things happen.

That means:

  • Leading installation and commissioning of IoT hardware on mining equipment
  • Managing contractors, site teams, and customer stakeholders
  • Owning delivery across scope, schedule, cost, risk, and safety
  • Troubleshooting issues in real-time and making decisions independently
  • Representing MaxMine in remote, high-pressure environments

Alongside site execution, you’ll also contribute to the technical and planning side of delivery:

  • Developing design requirements with customers, OEMs, and internal engineers
  • Preparing installation documentation, drawings, BOMs, and work plans
  • Engaging suppliers and coordinating logistics
  • Supporting configuration and system integration
  • Identifying and driving continuous improvement opportunities

What makes this role different

  • Global exposure – work across remote mining sites in Australia and internationally
  • High trust, high responsibility – you’ll be the person on the ground representing the business
  • Real career acceleration – steep learning curve across engineering, operations, and project delivery
  • Variety – from technical design work to field leadership and stakeholder management
  • Impact – your work directly affects customer outcomes and system performance

About you

You have a few years experience under your belt and are ready for the next step in your career. You’re someone who:

  • Takes ownership and gets things done
  • Can problem-solve and deliver outcomes on the fly
  • Is comfortable making decisions without perfect information
  • Can operate both in the field and in a professional office environment
  • Communicates confidently with customers, contractors, and internal teams
  • Stays calm under pressure and adapts quickly when things change

You’re likely hands-on by nature; the kind of person who enjoys building, fixing, or tinkering outside of work.

You’re also:

  • Willing and able to travel regularly (including remote international sites)
  • Comfortable working in physically and culturally diverse environments
  • Practical, resilient, and resourceful

This role isn’t for everyone, but for the right person, it’s a high-growth, high-reward opportunity.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electrical, Electronic Engineering (or similar)
  • 2–5 years’ experience in engineering, mining, construction, or project-based environments
  • Experience coordinating contractors or working in site-based roles
  • Strong stakeholder and customer-facing communication skills
  • Ability to plan, organise and deliver outcomes across multiple priorities
  • Experience with drawings, BOMs, or installation planning

Requirements:

  • Ability to travel to remote sites in Australia and internationally
  • Valid driver’s licence and passport

Why join MaxMine

  • Join a rapidly scaling technology company transforming mining
  • Work in a small, high-performing team with strong culture and autonomy
  • Learn directly from real-world deployments and customer interaction
  • Shape your role, contribute ideas, and make a visible impact
  • Gain exposure to global operations, complex projects, and emerging technology, including advanced AI development and usage across our business

What else do you need to know?

  • Based in Adelaide, with regular domestic and international travel
  • Some out-of-hours work required to support site operations
  • You’ll be supported — but expected to become independent quickly

If you’re looking for a role where you can step up, take responsibility, and accelerate your career, we’d love to hear from you.
