Job Description

Fraport Greece is currently looking for a caliber Project Engineer for the Design and Construction Team, who will be responsible for enabling and supporting the proper delivery and handover of Design & Construction projects on time, according to specific standards, and within budget.

The role is located in our HQ premises in Marousi.

What you will be doing:

Responsibilities

  • Review detailed designs, with approved consultants (OTS’s) and track consultant’s support throughout the design and construction phases.
  • Monitor and report the progress of approvals, certification, and permitting streams toward project completion.
  • Contribute to the finalization of the design Task Order, construction Request for Proposals and contracts, scope statements as per the approved design, construction schedules and contract Bill of Quantities and pricing.
  • Review any required OTS’s and Contractor documents, including schedules, reports, inspection and testing plans, commissioning plans, material submittals etc.
  • Report project status to Project Controls & Reporting.
  • Review and finalize project closeout documentation.
  • Monitor and support project execution.
  • Supervise construction projects at the site whenever required.
  • Monitor and review construction progress reports.
  • Monitor and ensure the submission of required project documentation (work permits, HIRAs, Health and safety plans, etc.).
  • Support in the process of the remaining Imminent Works scope aspects, Defects, and Liabilities or other pending streams.

Requirements

  • M.Sc. or Diploma (TEI) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum five years of previous professional experience in a similar role, preferably in large organizations.
  • Professional experience in Project Management (lead or participate in Design & Construction projects). Project management qualification (PMP) is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience in large-scale design and construction projects, preferably in airport operations.
  • Fluency in English and Greek, oral and written, at a professional corporate level.
  • Excellent Knowledge of MS Office.
  • Fulfilled Military Obligations (if appropriate).

Fraport Greece’s innovative €440 million airport development program has significantly transformed these airports. In particular, Fraport Greece has delivered five brand new terminals, expanded and modernized five existing terminals, and upgraded four other terminals. Construction projects at airside operational areas of the regional airports included renovating 12 runways, improving ramp areas, and constructing and renovating 12 fire stations. All of the airports have also been equipped with new state-of-the-art baggage handling and security systems.

The 14 Greek regional airports project is one of the largest and most beneficial investments and is a basis for boosting the Greek economy. Fraport Greece enhances the airports’ international competitiveness by the optimization of operational processes, the modernization and upgrade of the airports’ infrastructure and the continuous training of employees.
