Project Engineer

Location: Sagamihara (remote work negotiable, twice a week)

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Project Engineer to be a critical driver of our production success. You will be instrumental in improving efficiency and enhancing quality that impact our divisional and global goals.

What you will do:

  • Lead Process Innovation: Introduce and implement new equipment and processes, while continuously optimizing existing ones to maximize quality and productivity.

  • Drive Automation: Develop and upgrade the automation systems, collaborating closely with our global teams.

  • Ensure Quality Consistency: Provide essential technical instructions to our Operations department to maintain unwavering quality standards.

  • Spearhead Improvement Projects: Utilize your expertise by organizing or actively participating in key quality improvement projects.

  • Global Collaboration: Work seamlessly with CAPSUGEL CIM, IT, and NEO MES teams worldwide to ensure CAPSUGEL’s global standards.

  • Resource Management: Effectively manage CAPEX and OPEX budgets and maintain our critical spare parts inventory.

  • Training & Development: Plan and deliver impactful training sessions for the Operations team and others.

  • Strive for Self-development: Take the lead on projects, embrace continuous self-development, and act as a pivotal team member.

What we are looking for:

  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering or other relevant technical field

  • At least 3 years of hands on experience within the manufacturing environment, specializing in engineering

  • Good knowledge of PLC, control systems and I/O devices, with a proficiency with programming languages such as C, VB and SQL

  • Solid understanding of electrical or mechanical engineering principles, experienced with GMP/ISO9001

  • Demonstrates strong problem solving skills and is an effective communicator

  • Team player and highly motivated and collaborative
