Basic responsibilities:
Lead the electrical scope from detailed design â commissioning â COD.
Produce/review SLDs, stringing, cable sizing, earthing & lightning, MV and protection coordination.
Manage grid connection (utility liaison, self-build works), compliance, SCADAintegration.
Compile ERs/specs/BoQs; review OEM datasheets (inverters/transformers/switchgear/relays); resolve TQs/CRs.
Oversee FAT/SAT, site QA/QC, performance testing, as-builts and O&M handover.
Requirements:
BEng/BSc Electrical Engineering
(essential);
PrEng/PrTech
advantageous.
10+ yrs solar PV with strong MV design & protection;
Proficient in
PVSyst
&
AutoCAD
; a plus.
Solid knowledge of
SANS, NRS IEC
and utility/grid-code processes.
Strong stakeholder communication; valid driver’s licence; willing to travel.
