Zachry Engineering Corporation (ZEC) is currently looking for a talented Project Director in our Charlotte, North Carolina office. This is a great opportunity to work with a high-performing team on interesting and challenging design projects for customers in the process, energy, and chemical industries. We want to talk with individuals who have experience leading successful project management teams and developing customer relationships.
The Director will be responsible for engineering project delivery, best practices and procedures and capability growth. Candidates should possess a minimum of 15 years of experience that include responsibilities for engineering project management across a significant portfolio. Strong business acumen is required along with solid experience in customer engagement. The individual should possess requisite leadership skills to motivate others, manage in a team environment, coordinate efforts and require a minimum amount of direction from senior management. This individual shall demonstrate effective communication skills and participate in the growth (i.e. selection, training and development) of engineering project management professionals.
REQUIREMENTS
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in successfully managing and executing work with overseas High Value Engineering (HVE) offices.
Physical Demands
Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, video chat and software systems. Position may include visits to construction sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hardhat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and work boots.
Work Environment
This position will be required to be in the company office. Employee will be based out of the Charlotte, NC Zachry office, but may be required to work in multiple environments, including the office, operating plant, or in a trailer or building on a construction site. At operating plants and construction sites, noise levels will be moderate to high. Job sites may contain the following: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling, and talking. Noise levels vary and may include bells, whistles, and alarms.
