Job Description

Objective

We are seeking an experienced Project Director to work with the Head of Energy to drive STACK’s energy

strategy across distribution, transmission, storage and renewable energy initiatives. This role will be

responsible for delivery of utility infrastructure that supports STACKS energy needs across its APAC

portfolio.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, lead and manage end to end delivery of large-scale private utility infrastructure projects with a capital value up to $500m.
  • Report project progress to ensure management visibility including key project metrics such as status, costs tracking, risk, issues, safety, quality, milestones, timeframes and resources plans.
  • Preparation and monitoring of project budgets and cashflow projections, engage with external QS for budget validation reports and progress tracking.
  • Be safety focused at all times and stages of project delivery, work collaboratively with STACK safety
  • Leadership, embody and lead by example our Safety Best Practices and Conduct Work closely with major Energy utilities such as AusNet, Powercor, Beon, Lumea, Transgrid, AGL, AEMO, and VicGrid.
  • Act as the primary project contact & superintendent for utility projects including contract negotiations in conjunction with the Head of Energy.
  • Assist the Head of Energy to prepare Board Papers and briefing notes for all energy-related projects.
  • Ensure compliance with technical, regulatory, and commercial frameworks.
  • Work closely with Delivery Project Directors and Managers, Engineering, Consultants, Compliance,
  • Sustainability, Procurement, and Finance teams.
  • Manage the relationship with Operational & Commissioning teams, ensure handover of project from award through to completion, ensuring delivery aligned to key projects goals.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • 8+ years’ experience in energy, utilities, or renewables.
  • Strong understanding of distribution & transmission networks.
  • Experience with Project Delivery of large-scale utility projects with a capital value $100m+.
  • Proven stakeholder management and planning capability.
  • Strong commercial and analytical skills.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Australian regulatory frameworks.
  • Engineering or energy economics background.
  • Project Leadership experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy, Business, Economics or related field.
  • Postgraduate qualifications are advantageous.

Travel Requirements

The role requires regular travel to Data Centre construction sites, third‑party vendor locations as required. The frequency of travel will vary based on programme and project demands.
