Who are we looking for?   

We’re looking for an experienced Project Director to join our Contamination Site Assessment and Remediation team, based in our office in Vancouver, BC. The ideal candidate will be someone that can lead multidisciplinary environmental projects, making decisions and being proactive in prevention, control, and remediation of environmental hazards using various engineering disciplines, like waste treatment, site remediation, or pollution control technology, in addition to building and nurturing solid client relationships and helping drive sustainable revenue growth in the region.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: 

Contaminated Site Assessment & Remediation Leadership

  • Provide technical and strategic leadership for complex contaminated site portfolios, including Phase I & II ESAs, remedial action plans, risk assessments, remediation design, and long-term site management strategies.
  • Serve as the accountable technical authority for projects, either directly leading or enabling multidisciplinary teams to deliver compliant, defensible, and cost-effective solutions through to regulatory closure.
  • Apply advanced remediation approaches and innovative risk-based solutions that align with provincial and federal regulatory frameworks.

Project & Portfolio Governance

  • Lead a portfolio of provincially and federally regulated projects, ensuring delivery excellence from proposal development through execution, close-out, and client satisfaction.
  • Oversee project controls including scope, schedule, budget, risk management, and quality performance in alignment with internal project management frameworks.
  • Support business planning and work closely with the Business Group Leader to manage workload forecasting, resourcing, and revenue performance.
  • Experience with Defense Construction Canada (DCC) and federal procurement environments is considered a strong asset.

Technical Excellence & Innovation

  • Champion technical quality and continuous improvement across contaminated sites services.
  • Recommend and implement complex or innovative assessment and remediation strategies based on evolving regulations, best practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders.

Client Relationship Management & Market Development

  • Lead and grow key client relationships, including federal, industrial, and public-sector clients.
  • Partner with the Business Group Leader to drive client satisfaction, repeat business, and strategic growth opportunities.
  • Represent the organization within industry forums, professional associations, and regulatory-facing engagements.

People Leadership & Professional Development

  • Provide strong technical mentorship, professional supervision, and coaching for environmental scientists, engineers, and project managers.
  • Foster career progression through knowledge sharing, competency development, and succession planning.
  • Build inclusive, high-performing teams supported by clear expectations, resourcing discipline, and technical rigor.

Health, Safety, Quality & Environment (HSQE) Leadership

  • Actively promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all HSQE requirements.
  • Monitor performance against HSQE KPIs, address trends or non-compliance, and drive corrective and preventative actions.
  • Lead by example in field and office environments to reinforce safe, ethical, and sustainable practices.

Culture of Collaboration & Innovation

  • Drive a culture of innovation and collaboration by enabling multi-stakeholder and cross-business-unit solutions.
  • Encourage new approaches that improve technical outcomes, client experience, and operational efficiency.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Professional registration in British Columbia (P.Eng., P.Geo., or P.Ag.)
  • 10+ years of progressive experience delivering contaminated site assessment and remediation projects, including senior technical leadership accountability.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex projects and portfolios within consulting or regulated environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of BC and federal contaminated sites legislation, guidance, and regulatory processes.
  • Proven ability to mentor, supervise, and develop multidisciplinary technical teams.
  • Experience managing senior client relationships and acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Strong proposal, reporting, and technical writing capabilities with a client-focused mindset.
  • Ability to balance technical rigor with commercial awareness and delivery efficiency
  • Self-directed leader with exceptional organizational, time-management, and decision-making skills.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to engage regulators, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, integrity, and continuous improvement.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to support field and client activities as required.

Salary range: $110,220 - $183,700 based on experience.
