Job Description

Major Responsibilities

- Under general supervision, with latitude for independent initiative and judgement, assist in the daily operations of the borough seasonal unit.
- Maintain records and compile reports concerning personnel related data.
- Utilize Salesforce and Seasonal Tracking System (STS) to enter and review employee history.
- Oversee and track Seasonal and Full Time Employee Evaluations.
- Serve as liaison with Central Human Resources (HR) and Payroll Unit.
- Process seasonal staff and Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) participants, coordinate with SYEP providers and arrange SYEP activities.
- Check all employment applications for accuracy and consistency with established policies and procedures.
- Work with Borough HR office on seasonal tracking needs and other trainings as needed.
- Schedule interviews; confirm appointments, coordinate and distribute interview material.
- Process selected candidates through E-Hire platform and ESS with use of electronic tablets. Verify identification for hiring.
- Take ID pictures and correspond with Central HR employee’s IDs.
- Distribute seasonal T-shirts and keep accurate inventory.
- Provide general support services including typing, filing, answering phones and responding to inquiries.
- Perform special projects for the Chief of Administrative Services.
- Identify and communicate emerging issues to supervisor.
- Maintain complete confidentiality of all individuals, personal and professional data.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency at all the work performed.

Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
