Job Description

Job Location: Lincoln Campus - Lincoln, NE 68508
Position Type: Full TimeDoes the opportunity to devote your talents to a cause greater than yourself excite you? Do you enjoy bringing people together, keeping moving parts aligned, and turning big ideas into well-executed experiences? The Arbor Day Foundation is a place where you can do work that matters with people who care. As we say at the Foundation: life is short, love where you work.
As one of the world's largest conservation organizations, the Arbor Day Foundation inspires people to plant, nurture, and celebrate trees. We help people understand and use trees as a solution to global issues (like air quality, water quality, climate change, deforestation, poverty, and hunger) that are critical to survival.
Play a direct role in helping distribute trees to communities across the country - turning environmental commitments into meaningful, on-the-ground impact.
Join the Arbor Day Foundation as a Project Delivery Specialist on the Mission Delivery team and play a key role in turning tree distribution partner commitments into well-executed, scalable project delivery. You’ll coordinate across teams, translate inputs into actionable plans, and build campaigns in our internal platform to bring projects to life. Your work will drive strong execution, from planning through launch and delivery, supporting tree distribution efforts that advance our mission and strengthen partner relationships.

Your Support System:
- You’ll report to the Senior Manager, Community Trees
- You’ll collaborate with Corporate Partnerships, Procurement, Fulfillment, and external partners.
How we work:
- Location: Lincoln, Nebraska
- Schedule: In-office Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday; optional remote work on Wednesday and Friday.  Occasional weekend on-call availability is needed during peak operational periods or time-sensitive partner support
- Travel: 10–15%, up to 4 trips per year for meetings, tree plantings or distribution events, and Foundation conferences.
What you’ll do:
- Serve as the central driver for project execution - translating partner commitments and internal requests into clear, actionable project plans with defined scope, timelines, logistics, and deliverables.
- Bring structure and clarity across teams by coordinating inputs from Corporate Partnerships, Procurement, Fulfillment, and internal teams to align goals, resources, and timelines and ensure seamless delivery.
- Lead and manage projects end-to-end, from initial request through campaign launch, event delivery, and closeout - ensuring each stage is executed with clarity, accuracy, and timeliness
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, tracking milestones, mitigating risks, and resolving challenges to keep projects on track
- Build and manage campaigns within the Foundation’s Community Tree Distribution (CTD) tool, translating project details into system-based outputs and preparing campaigns for launch
- Troubleshoot and update campaigns as needed (e.g., timing, location, species, logistics), and escalate system issues to technology partners when appropriate
- Maintain accurate project data across systems (CRM, project management tools, and CTD), ensuring visibility, consistency, and alignment across stakeholders
- Communicate proactively, setting expectations, resolving gaps, and keeping internal teams and partners aligned throughout the project lifecycle
- Support external partners with logistical coordination, including shipping updates, event preparation, and day-of support as needed
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce friction across handoffs, and strengthen how projects are delivered at scale
- Represent the Foundation with professionalism and authenticity in partner meetings, conferences, and events
What you'll bring:
- Passion for the Foundation’s mission, nature, environmental stewardship, and people
- Experience managing or coordinating complex, high-volume projects, programs, logistics, or operational workflows in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize, manage dependencies, and maintain momentum across multiple stakeholders and timelines
- Demonstrated ability to bring clarity and structure to ambiguous or evolving processes
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to keep diverse stakeholders aligned and informed
- Skill in building strong working relationships across teams and with external partners
- Ability to translate inputs and requirements into practical project plans, timelines, and system-based outputs
- Comfort working in systems and tools that support project tracking, reporting, and execution (e.g., CRM, Monday.com, or similar platforms), with the ability to quickly learn new tools and apply them effectively
- A detail-oriented, solution-focused mindset with strong judgment and follow-through
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-moving, mission-driven environment
What success looks like:
- Projects are delivered on time with strong quality and a positive partner experience
- Internal teams and external partners stay aligned through proactive communication and well-managed handoffs
- Project risks are identified early and addressed proactively
- Campaigns and project details are accurately built and maintained across systems, ensuring reliable data and a seamless user experience
- Reporting is timely, useful, and supports continuous improvement
