Job Description
As a Security Systems Project Coordinator, you'll serve as a key link between Store Development, vendors, contractors, and store operations teams to ensure security systems are delivered, installed, and functioning properly across our growing store network. From coordinating equipment for new store openings to resolving service issues in existing locations, you'll help maintain a safe and secure environment for AutoZone customers and employees.
Success in this role requires a blend of project coordination, technical expertise, vendor management, and problem-solving skills. You'll work independently while collaborating closely with a small, highly engaged team to ensure security projects are completed on time, within scope, and to company standards.
- Coordinate the procurement, scheduling, and installation of all fire, security, access control, and video surveillance equipment for new store openings and remodel projects throughout the United States and Mexico.
- Partner with Store Development and Store Setup teams to ensure all required security equipment is delivered, installed, tested, and operational prior to store opening.
- Manage and support fire, security, access control, alarm, safe, lock, electronic article surveillance (EAS), and video systems across existing store locations.
- Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and service providers to resolve equipment concerns quickly and effectively.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for stores requiring service, repairs, or maintenance on security-related equipment.
- Monitor project timelines and vendor performance to ensure work is completed accurately, safely, and on schedule.
- Oversee contractors and service providers while on-site, providing guidance on repair procedures and confirming successful completion of work.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and contractors to support ongoing operational and project needs.
- Communicate effectively with field teams, vendors, and business partners through phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Support the continuous improvement of security system processes and standards across the organization.
What We Are Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 5–10 years of experience working with low-voltage systems, security systems, fire alarm systems, access control, and/or video surveillance systems.
- Strong working knowledge of security technologies and their installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting requirements.
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of accountability.
- Strong vendor and contractor management experience.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional partners and operate successfully as part of a small team.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence and operational reliability.
You'll Go the Extra Mile If You Have
- Manufacturer certifications related to fire alarm, access control, intrusion detection, or video surveillance systems.
- State or national certifications within fire, security, or low-voltage industries.
- Experience supporting multi-site retail environments.
- Knowledge of electronic article surveillance (EAS), safe management systems, and integrated security platforms.
- Experience managing security system installations for large-scale new construction or remodel projects.
- Familiarity with security compliance standards, life safety requirements, and industry best practices.
- A proactive approach to identifying opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.
