We offer a collaborative environment where people work closely across operations, engineering and project delivery. We value safety, quality, respect, teamwork, continuous improvement and partnership, and we encourage open communication, knowledge sharing and practical support.

About the role

This fixed-term role will provide maternity leave cover for up to six months, maintaining continuity across HEH Civil’s project scheduling and portfolio reporting. You will work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Operations and senior leaders to keep programs current, visible and aligned with delivery priorities.

  • Develop detailed construction programs for new and active projects, including sequencing, dependencies, milestones, critical paths and resource considerations
  • Update schedules to reflect progress, delays, risks, changes and resource adjustments
  • Support Project Managers in the operational running of construction programs so schedules reflect current site realities
  • Prepare lookahead programs, schedule variance analysis and clear progress reporting
  • Maintain the company-wide portfolio schedule for current and upcoming projects
  • Produce portfolio dashboards and concise executive-level reports, including key milestones across projects
  • Coordinate with project teams on resourcing, procurement, shutdown periods and delivery priorities
  • Coach and support Project Managers and Project Engineers to build consistent programming practices
  • Work remotely and in the Cairns office, with occasional visits to project sites as required

About you

You are an organised and collaborative scheduler who can quickly understand a portfolio, build trusted relationships and provide practical, reliable information to busy project teams.

  • Demonstrated project scheduling experience in civil construction, infrastructure or a related project environment
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Project; Primavera P6 experience is desirable
  • Sound understanding of construction methodology, sequencing, critical path analysis and resource planning
  • Ability to interpret project documentation and translate progress information into accurate, practical programs
  • Strong analytical, reporting and stakeholder communication skills
  • High attention to detail, responsiveness and the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects
  • Experience with portfolio or enterprise-level master schedules will be highly regarded
  • A qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Controls or a related discipline is desirable

Why join HEH Civil?

  • A meaningful six-month opportunity supporting a diverse portfolio of Queensland civil infrastructure projects
  • A hybrid arrangement offering flexibility while maintaining strong connection with our Cairns-based team
  • Direct collaboration with project teams and senior management
  • An inclusive, practical workplace where ideas, initiative and continuous improvement are valued
