Job Description

TRI Environmental Group (TRI) is an independent laboratory testing, research, and information management company serving the environmental, geotechnical, and earthen infrastructure industries. TRI is seeking a Project Coordinator – Laboratory Logistics & Support to provide coordination and administrative support for laboratory testing workflows after scope and authorization are established.

Project Coordination & Operations Support

  • Maintain accurate project files, records, and sample information after project approval.
  • Confirm receipt of approved work orders and coordinate internal project setup for laboratory testing.
  • Track active projects to ensure smooth progression through testing workflows.
  • Partner with laboratory, client services, and administrative teams to keep priorities aligned and work moving efficiently.
  • Help prioritize tasks and monitor deadlines across multiple active jobs.

Client Communication

  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients regarding testing status and laboratory processing stages per established procedures.
  • Provide timely updates on laboratory schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Deliver professional, responsive customer service throughout the project lifecycle.

Workflow & Logistics Management

  • Coordinate daily workflow handoffs between departments to support efficient turnaround times.
  • Support scheduling priorities to keep laboratory production on track.
  • Identify scheduling issues or process delays and communicate solutions internally.
  • Foster strong communication across teams to ensure seamless execution and issue resolution.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Assist with preparation and release of laboratory reports.
  • Prepare, review, and organize project documentation.
  • Enter and reconcile data within ERP and LIMS systems.
  • Support QA/QC documentation, accreditation compliance, and traceability of client deliverables.
  • Verify consistency between reports, project documentation, and laboratory records.

Schedule Requirements

  • Full-time position.
  • Participation in a rotating Saturday schedule is required approximately once every 4–6 weeks (2–4 hours reviewing and distributing laboratory results).

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • 4+ years of relevant experience preferred in project coordination, inside sales, administrative support, or related roles.
  • Experience in laboratory operations is preferred but not required.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with multiple departments and stakeholders in a team-driven environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Comfortable working in databases, spreadsheets, ERP systems, or similar software.

Compensation

$26-30 per hour (DOE)
