
Reports to the Department Program Manager. Under the general guidance of the Hematology/Oncology Director of Education, and according to established policies and procedures, coordinates special projects and education related to the Future Gen Cancer Scholars Program (FGCS). Assumes responsibility for coordination of program and curriculum development for high school students, interacting with cancer specialists, school administration and students.

Provides support to the Future Gen Cancer Scholars Program by performing a variety of tasks related to special projects and education to include:
Artificial Intelligence and Medicine
Development and coordination of projects during the school year for high school and middle school students involving science and technology education. These projects may include study of the immune system, genomics, stem cell biology and radiation oncology
Coordination, program and curriculum development interacting with cancer specialists, school administration and students
Annual Cancer Free RI Event Coordination Assistance
Performs other duties as assigned.
Master’s Degree or PhD in Education
Six to twelve months’ experience on the job to become familiar with the procedures specific to the department and Future Gen Cancer Scholars Program. Previous experience in academic or healthcare environment preferred.
Three to five years teaching experience
Organizational skills to gather, assemble and maintain data from a variety of sources.
Demonstrated computer proficiency using MS Office.
Excellent communication skills. Good knowledge of English grammar, punctuation and spelling to compose and edit written materials.
Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of hospital personnel and persons outside the hospital.
