Job Description

Role purpose:

Supports successful delivery of the NFE portfolio in Ukraine through implementation of NFE programmes and projects, including Youth Connect for Ukraine, in compliance with British Council policies and procedures. Responsible for financial administration, reporting and data collection, operational project delivery and managing relations with delivery partners.

Role Accountabilities:

This role involves independently managing project activities, vendor relationships, and workload to ensure timely delivery against project deadlines. It includes holding vendors and suppliers accountable for service delivery, maintaining effective stakeholder relationships, and supporting programme implementation through efficient coordination, event management, training delivery, and procurement processes.

The position also has significant financial and administrative responsibilities, including planning and monitoring project budgets, forecasting expenditure, maintaining accurate financial records for audit purposes, processing vendor payments in compliance with British Council policies, and ensuring adherence to financial management standards. Additionally, the role manages grant administration, due diligence, data collection, records management, and monitoring activities, including data quality assurance, basic analysis, and progress reporting for funders.

A key aspect of the role is fostering strong partnerships with clients, partners, suppliers, and stakeholders while supporting the wider team in delivering non-formal education and cultural engagement programmes. The role contributes to diversity mainstreaming initiatives and ensures projects are implemented effectively and inclusively.

The role also requires a strong commitment to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), actively promoting an inclusive and anti-racist culture, supporting employee well-being, and embedding EDI principles across all projects and programmes. This includes contributing to improved gender equality, disability inclusion, and broader social inclusion outcomes through programme design and delivery.

Requirements of the role:

  • University degree or equivalent in a relevant subject or discipline
  • C1 level of English.
  • Experience of working in a supporting role on programmes or projects.
  • Administrative and financial administration experience.
  • Good understanding of basic concepts of monitoring and evaluation, and how they are central to good project management.
  • Experience in project and risk management.

  • Business trips could be there across Ukraine as well as abroad.
