Joining GT AI provides the opportunity to support high-profile aviation projects at Stansted Airport for Manchester Airports Group (MAG), working as part of a collaborative team focused on the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of critical infrastructure projects.

As a Design Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting the coordination and management of design and construction information across a range of aviation projects. Working closely with Project Managers, designers, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and client representatives, you will help ensure project information is effectively controlled, coordinated and delivered in line with programme requirements, technical standards and operational constraints.

This role offers exposure to a live airport environment where safety, stakeholder engagement and operational continuity are paramount. You will support the successful delivery of aviation infrastructure, security systems, building services and associated enabling works, ensuring solutions are technically compliant, buildable and aligned with MAG standards and requirements.

What You Will be Doing:

  • Establish, manage and maintain project document control systems, drawing registers and project folders within SharePoint, Viewpoint or other agreed platforms, ensuring information remains current, controlled and accessible.
  • Support the review and coordination of project requirements, employer's requirements, technical standards, design deliverables and site constraints.
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of construction phase documentation including: Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Permits, Inspection records and Site documentation packs.
  • Maintain design deliverable schedules, technical query registers, trackers and action logs, ensuring key actions are monitored and closed out.
  • Coordinate information between clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and internal delivery teams to support design development and project readiness.
  • Review subcontractor and supplier submissions for completeness, technical compliance and alignment with project requirements.
  • Support the development and monitoring of design, procurement and construction programmes.
  • Assist with the preparation of security clearance and access requirements associated with working within a live airport environment.
  • Attend project start-up meetings, design reviews, coordination meetings, progress meetings and handover meetings.
  • Support site-based coordination activities, including gathering project information, undertaking drawing reviews and assisting with site inspections.
  • Assist with the review, preparation and management of quality documentation and project records.
  • Maintain site documentation including: Drawing issue logs, Redline mark-ups, As-built information, Inspection records, Permits & approvals and Quality records
  • Coordinate the flow of design and construction information between site teams, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and client stakeholders.
  • Monitor progress against design and construction deliverables, identifying potential risks, constraints, delays or missing information.
  • Support the management of technical queries (TQs), change management processes, site instructions and project trackers.
  • Work with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure documentation and installation records are submitted in accordance with project requirements.
  • Assist in compiling handover documentation including: Operation and Maintenance Manuals (O&Ms), As-built drawings, Test certificates, Commissioning records and Quality documentation
  • Promote safe working practices and support compliance with project, client and airport operational requirements.

About You:

  • Ability to coordinate design and construction information between site teams, subcontractors, consultants and client representatives.
  • Experience of supporting site activities such as setting out, drawing checks, site records, redline mark-ups and quality inspections would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations, designer duties, construction phase planning and the importance of safe systems of work.
  • Experience of working within an airport, security-controlled, live operational or critical infrastructure environment would be advantageous.
  • Possess an industry applicable ONC/HNC, NVQ equivalent, or relevant construction, engineering or technical qualification.

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, with AutoCAD, Bluebeam or similar drawing review software experience being an advantage.
