Two Permanent Full-Time Project Coordinator Positions
This role is an in‑office position based at our 20 Bay Street location. Our team is highly collaborative, and much of our work benefits from in‑person co‑creation, relationship‑building, and hands‑on partnership with leaders across the organization.
Our AMM - Facilities SOGR Delivery - Facilities Office is looking for two Project Coordinators to coordinate the design and construction of assigned physical infrastructure projects, in a safe, timely, consistent and cost-effective manner and ensure customer satisfaction, temporary conditions of a station during construction, testing & commissioning + training.
Coordinates multiple project(s), or specific component(s) of the project(s) as assigned, through all phases of design, construction and acceptance and commissioning of completed projects for hand over to the user group, including contributing to procurement requirements and documentation, producing project documentation and coordinating amendments and approvals of documents, contributing to issue and risk reporting and mitigation plans, and collaborating with internal and external authorities and stakeholder on matters of Safety, consultant outputs, and Budget variances.
Performs day-to-day project administration such as organizing electronic files, coordinating meetings (internal and external), attending meetings related to project or component and representing Customer Service Delivery / Station Services as assigned, organizing and reporting on tasks, in order to minimize customer impacts, ensure all internal and external approvals are obtained, design and cost disputes are resolved in a timely way within established budget and adhering to schedule restrictions.
Coordinates engineering projects with external agencies including the Railways to ensure compliance with legislation, codes and the requirements of governing/regulatory authorities, including the incorporation of external agency work within GO Engineering construction, TOC and SOGR projects.
Designs and manages in-house projects and emergent rehabilitation/repair work for user groups
Identifies, develops and recommends physical infrastructure programs with respect to rehabilitation and expansion of all GO Transit facilities and managing the implementation of approved projects.
Researches, develops and recommends maintenance standards and procedures and technical training requirements for new technology as a result of capital works.
Maintains highest possible Customer Experience throughout construction and maintenance activities to ensure Customer to Construction interface risks are mitigated and CSAT is not negatively impacted.
A college diploma in Architectural/Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering Technology, Building Science or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience providing a thorough knowledge of the theories and practices of engineering / architecture engineering / architecture/ construction / maintenance within an operating environment.
Must successfully complete environmental, safety and any other training and certification required to stay current on regulations and industry standards and as by corporate policy.
Minimum five (5) years’ experience related to the planning, design and construction of transit facilities, public facing and maintenance facilities, interpreting and applying contract plans and specifications and co-ordinating contracted engineering projects.
Thorough knowledge of the theory, principles and practices of Architectural/ Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering, Building Science and Architecture.
Detailed knowledge of project management including cost control, scheduling, codes, standards, specifications, CCDC Documents, corporate policies and procedures and applicable contract legislation.
Thorough understanding of Railway Rules and Regulations and Safety & Operating procedures.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, presentation skills, ability to work independently, strong interpersonal and negotiating skills and analytical ability are a must.
Proficiency in MS Office Software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, Project) is considered an asset.
Proficiency in the use of project management software and computer applications is essential.
Must have a valid Ontario “G” Driver’s Licence and must meet the corporate standard for a good driving record as determined by the organization, which is subject to change.
PMP or other Project Management certification is considered an asset.
