The Supportive Programs and Initiatives (SPI), Fair Fares program Division is a Mayoral initiative to subsidize NYCT fares initiative designed to provide accessible discount for NYCT subways and eligible local bus service to low-income families who are in receipt of Cash Assistance, Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program as well as New York City residents who are living at or below the federal poverty line.
Fair Fares NYC is a city program that helps New Yorkers with low incomes reduce their transportation costs. By using the Fair Fares NYC discount, New York City residents get a 50% discount on subway and eligible bus fares (including the Staten Island Railway, Roosevelt Island Tram, and Hudson Rail Link). Fair Fares also gives 50% off Access-A-Ride trips.
Family Indepence Administration (FIA) is recruiting for one (1) Youth Apprentice, to function as Project Coordinator assigned to the Fair Fares program, who will:
- Analyze the Fair Fares Web data to produce detailed reports supporting program performance and decision-making.
- Serve as liaison between internal teams and Transit partners to coordinate operations and resolve issues.
- Manage client case resolution within Office of Performance Management and Data Analytics (OPMDA), ensuring timely and accurate outcomes.
- Support the Executive Director with program initiatives, special projects, and operational needs.
