Job Description

Position: Quality Coordinator (full-time, permanent)
Location: Various projects in North Central USA
Rotation: 3 weeks on, 1 week off
Schedule: 6 days on, 1 day off

T he Project Coordinator provides integrated project and field coordination support for a large-scale transmission construction project located in the North Central United States. This role is responsible for managing project documentation, maintaining project registers, tracking progress and quantities, and supporting construction execution through direct field coordination.

The Project Coordinator serves as a key link between field execution and project management, ensuring accurate, timely, and consistent information flow between crews, construction leadership, and the project team. While this role does not own commercial decisions, schedule baselines, or project controls authority, it is accountable for ensuring project records, reporting, and field inputs accurately reflect execution status and support informed decision-making.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

PROJECT DOCUMENTATION & INFORMATION MANAGEMENT

  • Manage and maintain project documentation in accordance with project procedures, including RFIs, submittals, correspondence, change documentation, and deliverables
  • Maintain project registers and logs (RFIs, submittals, issues, actions, changes, quantities, and deliverables)
  • Ensure project records are complete, current, and audit-ready to support project reporting, claims, and closeout
  • Prepare, distribute, and track meeting minutes and action items for internal and external project meetings
  • Compile and issue required project reports, dashboards, and status updates in accordance with contract and company requirements

SCHEDULE, COST & PROGRESS SUPPORT

  • Collect, verify, and track field progress, installed quantities, labor hours, and productivity metrics
  • Coordinate field progress inputs to support schedule updates, reporting, and look-ahead planning
  • Maintain progress, quantity, and change logs and support cost and change management documentation
  • Interface with Project Controls and Scheduling resources to ensure alignment with project milestones and reporting requirements

FIELD COORDINATION AND EXECUTION SUPPORT

  • Provide day-to-day coordination support to Construction Managers, General Foreman, and field leadership
  • Support workfront readiness by coordinating access status, permits, environmental constraints, inspection scheduling awareness, and material availability
  • Assist with coordination of multiple crews and subcontractors across assigned work areas
  • Serve as an information conduit between field teams and project management to ensure execution constraints and changes are captured and communicated

MATERIALS, PROCUREMENT & SUBCONTRACTOR INTERFACE

  • Monitor material delivery status and readiness in coordination with procurement, material and construction teams
  • Support material tracking, documentation, and turnover readiness
  • Assist with subcontractor coordination related to sequencing, scope boundaries, manpower reporting, and equipment deployment

COMMUNICATION & CONTINUOUES IMPROVEMENT

  • Act as a central coordination point between field execution, project management, project controls, and quality teams
  • Identify execution constraints, documentation gaps, or coordination risks early and escalate as required
  • Support continuous improvement of reporting, documentation workflows, and field-to-office information flow

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 3–5 years of experience in project coordination, document control, or project support roles within utility, infrastructure, or industrial construction environments
  • Experience on large-scale linear infrastructure projects (transmission, pipeline, roadway, rail, or similar) strongly preferred
  • Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Project Management, or a related discipline is an asset

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong understanding of construction execution processes and work sequencing
  • Proficiency managing project documentation, registers, and reporting workflows
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience with construction and project platforms such as Procore, Viewpoint, SharePoint, SAP, or similar
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate across field and project teams
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable working both in the field and in a project/office environment

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
This position requires candidates to: 

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States or able to obtain and maintain U.S. work authorization
  • Successfully complete pre-employment and site-specific drug and alcohol testing
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Complete background screening and criminal record checks as required
  • This is a site-based role operating on a rotational schedule. The anticipated rotation is three (3) weeks on / one (1) week off, working six (6) days on and one (1) day off (Sundays), with ten (10) hour workdays. Rotation and schedule are subject to project needs and construction sequencing, and flexibility to adjust during critical phases is required.
