JOB TITLE: Manager, Project Controls Schedule

This position is responsible for enterprise-level leadership, governance, and oversight of project scheduling across Southern Nuclear’s Fleet Capital Projects portfolio. The role establishes and enforces fleet-wide scheduling standards, baseline and re-baseline governance, and performance expectations to ensure schedules are credible, integrated, and suitable for executive decision-making and PRC / CPRC governance.

The position exists to provide independent project controls leadership, improve schedule predictability, and strengthen portfolio-level confidence in delivery commitments across multiple sites.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills )

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related discipline required.

Advanced degree or professional certification (PMP, PMI-SP, PSP, CCP) preferred.

Experience

Extensive experience in project controls scheduling for capital projects in regulated or high-reliability environments.

Demonstrated experience influencing outcomes across multiple projects, sites, or portfolios.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Specify major duties performed by the job and % of time spent on duties.

  1. Enterprise Schedule Governance & Standards (30%)
  • Establish and maintain SNC fleet scheduling standards, policies, and governance requirements.
  • Define mandatory requirements for schedule maturity, baseline readiness, and change thresholds.
  • Serve as functional authority for scheduling expectations across Fleet Projects.
  1. Fleet-Wide Schedule Strategy & Integration (25%)
  • Define the fleet scheduling framework integrating scope, strategy, risk, and delivery confidence.
  • Ensure integration across engineering, procurement, construction, and outage planning.
  • Establish expectations for schedule use in portfolio forecasting and risk assessment.
  1. Governance Assurance & Executive Decision Support (20%)
  • Provide independent schedule assurance for PRC, CPRC, and executive leadership forums.
  • Review and challenge baselines, recovery plans, and milestone changes.
  • Escalate systemic and portfolio-level schedule risks with recommendations.
  1. Portfolio Performance & Predictability (15%)
  • Monitor fleet-level performance trends and define schedule KPIs.
  • Drive improvements in milestone predictability and delivery confidence.
  1. Organizational Leadership & Capability Development (10%)
  • Provide senior leadership and direction to scheduling and project controls resources.
  • Partner with PMO, Engineering, Construction, Supply Chain, and Finance leadership.
  • Champion continuous improvement of scheduling discipline and capability.
