Project Reporting & Compliance Lead – Gas Execution Projects

Location: Charlotte, NC
Employment Type: Contract
Work Arrangement: Full-Time, Onsite

We are seeking a Project Reporting & Compliance Lead to support major gas generation capital projects through regulatory reporting, executive communications, and project controls integration. This role serves as the primary liaison between project leadership and cross-functional teams to develop accurate, timely, and compliant regulatory filings, executive reports, and business communications.

The ideal candidate will have extensive project controls experience supporting large EPC projects, with expertise in cost, schedule, forecasting, risk, and change management.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Reporting & Compliance

  • Lead the development and coordination of regulatory filings, audits, compliance reporting, and information requests
  • Prepare responses for regulatory reviews, audits, rate cases, and commission inquiries
  • Ensure reporting is accurate, consistent, and aligned with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain supporting documentation and audit records

Project Controls & Performance Reporting

  • Serve as the project controls subject matter expert for regulatory reporting activities
  • Review project cost, schedule, forecasting, contingency, risk, and change management data
  • Integrate project performance metrics into executive and regulatory reports
  • Evaluate project trends and communicate risks, opportunities, and performance impacts
  • Support project controls methodologies during audits and regulatory reviews

Stakeholder Management & Communications

  • Collaborate with engineering, construction, finance, procurement, contracts, and project controls teams
  • Develop executive summaries, presentations, briefings, and business communications
  • Coordinate responses to executive and regulatory information requests
  • Present project information and recommendations to leadership and key stakeholders

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Project Management, Communications, or related field
  • Minimum 15 years of experience supporting large capital projects
  • Extensive experience with project controls, including cost management, forecasting, budgeting, scheduling, earned value, risk, contingency, and change management
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
  • Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and executive communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Teams, and reporting tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting utility regulatory filings, prudency reviews, audits, or rate cases
  • Background in utility, natural gas, power generation, transmission, renewable energy, or other EPC project environments
  • Experience serving as a Project Controls Manager, Cost Manager, Cost Engineer, Scheduler, or Project Controls Lead on large capital projects
  • Experience with Primavera P6, EcoSys, or similar project controls systems
  • PMP, PMI, AACE, CCP, PSP, CAPM, or related professional certifications
