The Project Controls Director directs and oversees the organization's portfolio of projects, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of the customer.

Responsibilities

  • Defines the organization's project management methodology and establishes processes for tracking and delivering projects.
  • Establishes project teams and distributes the project workload.
  • Serves as a liaison between project teams, external clients, or other functional areas of the organization.
  • Sets and manages project expectations.
  • Ensures projects are completed on time and within established quality standards and provides reports to clients or project sponsors.
  • Has extensive experience with the concepts and principles of one or more related fields or departments.
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination.
  • Supervision is often provided through a team of subordinate managers.
  • Contributes to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department or function in collaboration with senior management.
  • Establishes departmental policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization.

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of experience, including some prior management experience.
  • May require project management certification to develop and mentor others.
  • Decision-making skills.

  • Ability to build collaborative relationships.
  • Ability to identify and seek needed information/research skills.
  • Project scheduling skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast paced environment.
  • Well versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
  • Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of scope of work when necessary.

Travel Requirements

  • 0-5 % of time will be spent traveling to job site/office location.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Climbing stairs.
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Quiet environment.
  • Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds. Operating motor vehicles.

Pay Range

USD $134,430.00 - USD $179,380.00 /Yr.
