The role helps ensure stakeholders understand priorities, commitments, timelines, escalation paths, and decisions needed so work continues to advance in a disciplined and transparent way. This position is designed for a highly organized, persistent, and detail-oriented project professional who can influence without direct authority, constructively challenge missed commitments, communicate clearly with leaders and stakeholders, and help strengthen project execution discipline across the organization.

Core Competencies

  • Project Leadership & Kickoff Execution - Leads project initiation activities including project charters, scope definition, stakeholder identification, kickoff facilitation, operating cadence, governance structure, and success criteria.

  • Accountability Management & Performance Monitoring - Creates visibility into commitments, monitors adherence to project plans, challenges missed deadlines, facilitates resolution of execution gaps, and ensures responsible parties remain accountable for agreed deliverables and timelines.
  • RAID & Decision Management - Identifies, tracks, and escalates risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies, and decisions while ensuring owners, due dates, actions, and outcomes are clear and traceable.
  • Governance & Operating Rhythm - Supports consistent governance forums, project check-ins, steering updates, decision documentation, project artifacts, escalation paths, and leadership visibility across initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination & Influence - Builds trusted relationships across business and technical teams while coordinating execution, resolving blockers, aligning stakeholders, and driving next steps across workstreams.
  • Executive Communication & Reporting - Converts detailed project activity into concise leadership-ready updates, dashboards, project health summaries, risks, recommendations, and decisions needed.
  • Change Readiness & Adoption Support - Partners with change, training, process, and operations leaders to monitor readiness activities, documentation, communications, training completion, and go-live preparedness.
  • Process Discipline & Continuous Improvement - Uses structured project controls, lessons learned, post-implementation feedback, and governance standards to improve execution practices and strengthen operational maturity.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead project kickoff and planning activities, including scope definition, stakeholder alignment, success measures, governance approach, and project operating rhythm.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, milestone schedules, action trackers, RAID logs, decision logs, and related governance documentation.
  • Coordinate cross-functional execution across business, operational, technical, training, reporting, and support teams to keep work moving forward.
  • Facilitate project meetings, prepare agendas, document outcomes, confirm decisions, and follow up on action items through completion.
  • Monitor progress against commitments, identify risks, blockers, dependencies, missed deadlines, and ownership gaps, and escalate when needed.
  • Hold project participants accountable for deliverables, due dates, next steps, and issue resolution through structured follow-up and transparent reporting.
  • Prepare concise executive updates that communicate project health, accomplishments, risks, decisions needed, upcoming milestones, and recommended actions.
  • Support governance reviews, steering discussions, and portfolio-level updates by ensuring project information is accurate, current, and decision-ready.
  • Track readiness activities, including communications, documentation, training, adoption metrics, go-live criteria, and post-implementation follow-up.
  • Promote consistent use of project management tools and continuously improve project control practices to increase transparency, accountability, and execution maturity.

  • Overdue commitments, unresolved blockers, unclear ownership, and execution gaps are identified early and addressed constructively.
  • Project teams consistently use standard governance artifacts and shared documentation repositories.
  • Go-live readiness, communication, training, documentation, and post-implementation follow-up activities are tracked and completed.
  • Stakeholders experience improved coordination, reduced fragmentation, stronger accountability, and increased confidence in project delivery.

Role Boundaries

  • This role does not replace the business owner, product owner, compliance owner, technical owner, or functional leader responsible for business decisions.
  • This role does not own every task or perform all project work; it ensures the right owners are assigned, visible, accountable, and moving work forward.
  • This role is focused on project kickoff, execution leadership, project control, governance, reporting, escalation, coordination, accountability management, and delivery assurance.
