We have an opening for a Project Controls Analyst, who will review production and integrity of cost, schedule, earned value data, and coordinate baseline changes. This position is in the Project Management Office (PMO).

You will

  • Collect, validate, and compile project controls data (cost, schedule, EVM) and support routine variance and trend reporting using established methods and templates.
  • Support project teams in preparing schedules and performance reports using integrated project controls systems (e.g., MS Project, Deltek Cobra) in accordance with established procedures.
  • Assemble and format earned value performance data, cost trend charts, and schedule milestone tracking tools for reports and briefings following defined formats and guidance.
  • Extract information from financial and scheduling systems, load actual cost data, and perform basic reconciliation/quality checks to support accurate reporting.
  • Apply established change control procedures to support baseline updates, traceability, and compliance with institutional policies and configuration management standards, including maintaining documentation and logs.
  • Perform routine cost, schedule, and risk analysis using established project controls methodologies under general direction.
  • Support schedule integrity reviews and risk tracking activities by compiling inputs, applying standard quantitative techniques, and documenting results.
  • Support preparation of EAC inputs and documentation and assist with forecast tracking and accuracy checks under guidance.
  • Prepare project controls documentation and reporting narratives by summarizing integrated cost and schedule data, highlighting variances/issues, and escalating items to project leads for direction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

In addition at the TSS.2 level

  • Independently analyze integrated cost, schedule, and EVM performance data across one or more projects and provide findings to support project planning and execution.
  • Prepare more complex project controls analyses (e.g., forecasting, what-if scenarios, and cross-project trend assessments) and help identify drivers of variances for management review.
  • Support development of Estimates at Completion (EACs) by performing deeper forecast analysis and assessing forecast accuracy using quantitative techniques.
  • Perform quantitative risk analysis and scenario modeling (e.g., Monte Carlo) using established tools and methods and summarize results to support mitigation planning.
  • Provide project controls input for baseline planning and change control packages, including improved traceability, completeness checks, and coordination with stakeholders.
  • Contribute to improving project controls processes and reporting by proposing enhancements, helping document updated workflows, and providing informal guidance to less-experienced team members.

Qualifications

  • Ability to maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering, business, or related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Knowledge of cost and schedule management principles, earned value analysis, and project controls concepts.
  • Experience working with project control tools such as Primavera (P6), MS Project, or Deltek Cobra, etc.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint, and ability to synthesize information from multiple sources into clear technical communications.
  • Knowledge of project cost control, planning and scheduling, and risk tracking practices.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders regarding project control data.

In addition at the TSS.2 level

  • Broader experience performing project cost, schedule, and risk analysis.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of project cost control, planning and scheduling, and risk tracking practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently analyze integrated cost and schedule data and provide recommendations.

Desired Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of project risk integration, including experience with Crystal Ball or similar Monte Carlo risk modeling tools.
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience with project lifecycle management, including baseline establishment, change control, and reporting against performance objectives.

Pay Range

$107,610 - $163,764 Annually

$107,610 – $136,500 (TSS.1) Annually

$129,150 - $163,764 (TSS.2) Annually
