The Project Controlling Data Analyst supports the Project Services Product Line by building and maintaining reporting tools, templates, and dashboards that facilitate project data consolidation and performance analysis.
As the project business grows in size and complexity, this role will act as the data and reporting partner for Project Controllers, Project Analysts, Project Managers, and leadership. It will help maintain and improve key reporting tools such as Excel project charters, Power BI, Salesforce, SAP PS, BW, and Oracle, while also supporting AI use cases to improve project management efficiency, data quality, and performance insights.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting Tool Development and Maintenance
- Build, maintain, and improve reporting templates and dashboards to support project controlling activities across the project lifecycle.
- Develop standard reporting formats in Excel, Power BI, Salesforce, SAP PS, BW, Oracle, and other relevant tools.
- Automate and simplify recurring reporting processes to reduce manual workload for Project Controllers and Project Analysts.
Support to Project Data Consolidation
- Provide structured templates and reporting frameworks to facilitate data consolidation by the Project Controlling team.
- Support Project Controllers by ensuring reporting inputs are organized, consistent, and easy to use for project reviews and business discussions.
- Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, or quality issues and highlight them to the relevant Project Controller or data owner.-
Project Performance Reporting and Analysis Support
- Prepare visual reports and dashboards to support discussions on project revenue, costs, margin, forecast, risks, opportunities, and change scope.
- Support Project Controllers, Project Analysts, Project Managers, and Project Team Leaders with clear data views for decision-making.
- Contribute to project reviews, backlog reviews, forecast reviews, and leadership reporting by providing reliable reporting outputs.
Data Alignment Across Systems
- Support alignment between project operational data and corporate reporting systems such as BW, Oracle, SAP PS, Salesforce, and Power BI.
- Help investigate differences between project team data and corporate reporting figures.
- Work with Project Controllers, Finance, IT, and data owners to improve data consistency and reporting reliability.
Continuous Improvement, Automation, and AI Support
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, standardization, and data quality across project teams.
- Support automation and AI use cases that improve project management efficiency, reporting accuracy, and performance insights.
- Document reporting logic, templates, data definitions, and tool instructions to ensure consistency and sustainability.
Unique Aspects of the Role:
