Wood is recruiting for a Project Controller for a 13 month contract to cover leave within its Consulting Project Controls team reporting to the Lead Project Controller. This role is based in our Perth CBD office and can be partially working from home.

The Role

This role is to assist in the provision of basic cost control support to Wood assignments / project teams and clients, typically on smaller projects without dedicated project control discipline teams.

Under close supervision and with support and guidance, you will run a limited range of project controls systems and tools to enable the successful management and reporting of the project costs, schedule and risk on specific assignments.

  • Support the reporting of planned versus actual progress figures.
  • Contribute to reporting project performance against the critical path schedule.
  • Monitor and report project cost and schedule performance data.
  • Review and be familiar with the Project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for specific scopes of work
  • Liaise with Project Accounting and time-capture functions and third parties as required to ensure accurate and timely capture of costs and ensure costs are allocated accurately in accordance with approved project/assignment WBS
  • Work closely and assist Project Accountants and Billing Specialists in the Billing process and any other cost related queries
  • Maintain of project S-Curves and Histograms. Gathers progress updates on activities and deliverables from stakeholders.
  • Assist with the preparation of proposal schedules and CTR packs

Minimium Qualification

Degree in Commerce / Business / Finance or a relevant technical or business discipline

Knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Incumbents will typically have 2 – 4 years’ experience in project control
  • Basic understanding of project management principles and techniques
  • Basic understanding of Cost Management, Change Control, Planning & Risk Analysis & Management
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Word
