The Project Control Specialist I will be responsible for supporting the cost control, monitoring, forecasting, and financial reporting requirements of PMC Portfolio projects. The role involves maintaining accurate project control data, supporting financial performance analysis, preparing project reports, coordinating with internal functions, and ensuring accurate reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) in line with the approved project budget, including the breakdown of hours, costs, task codes, cost codes, and the development of associated cost sheets.
  • Prepare and maintain Project Control Statements (PCS) and Financial Control Statements (FCS).
  • Assess Estimate to Complete (ETC) and update Estimate at Completion (EAC) forecasts based on manpower deployment, approved scope, and anticipated future requirements.
  • Analyze variances between actuals, forecast, EAC, and approved budget.
  • Enter and update task codes, sell rates in ERP-Oracle.
  • Perform regular system checks to ensure the revenue, cost, and gross margin are correctly aligned and accurately reflected in the systems.
  • Coordinate with finance, HR, and other internal functions to resolve timecard, billing, and project data issues that may impact financial reporting.
  • Prepare and upload resource plans into project control systems.
  • Prepare Manpower Mobilization Requests (MMR) and related supporting documents for Client review and approval.
  • Prepare Invoices and follow-up with Client for timely approval and payments.
  • Support month-end financial activities, including accruals, reversals, revenue recognition, cost validation, and coordination with finance teams.
  • Run snapshots and reports in Ecosys or other project control platforms to support forecasting, reporting, and review requirements.
  • Develop illustrative dashboards and project performance reports using MS Power BI, Excel, and other reporting tools to support decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Finance, Cost Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years+ of relevant experience in project controls, cost control, commercial support, or project reporting.
  • Experience in an engineering consultancy, PMC, oil and gas, infrastructure, or similar environment is preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of project controls, cost control, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial performance reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, including data analysis and financial summaries.
  • Experience in MS Power BI for dashboard development and visual reporting.

Soft Skills and Competencies

  • High attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining project budgets, forecasts, cost sheets, trackers, and system data.
  • Team-oriented approach with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions while maintaining ownership of assigned deliverables.
