Job Description

We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves and build a better world -- together. At Ford, we’re all a part of something bigger than ourselves. Are you ready to change the way the world moves?

In this position...

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Project Control & Release Supervisor to oversee the end-to-end delivery of propulsion control systems. This role is at the heart of our vehicle modernization strategy, responsible for ensuring that complex gas, diesel, and electrified propulsion control systems are delivered with 100% quality and on-time precision.

What you'll do...

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing program milestones and driving the modernization of software build toolchains.

1. Program Delivery & Systems Integration

  • Lead the Project Control and Control Integration teams to meet all major Program Delivery Milestones (such as FDJ, PEC/FEC, and OKTB).

  • Ensure 100% closure of P0/P1 issues at critical milestones for global vehicle programs.

  • Provide technical oversight for the integration of all-new technologies and propulsion controls, managing cross-functional escalations to resolve gating issues.

  • Directly manage software/calibration releases for multiple concurrent vehicle programs, ensuring successful launches for major truck, SUV, and commercial vehicle platforms.

2. Software Release Management & Quality Assurance

  • Oversee the Release Team in delivering quality-focused updates, including Quick Service Fixes (QSF), Stop Ships, and Software Field Service Actions (FSAs).

  • Manage the full lifecycle of propulsion software release process (e.g. manufacturing, service, and over-the-air), often navigating compressed timelines to ensure vehicle safety and customer satisfaction.

  • Serve as a key stakeholder in the transition to next-generation electrical architectures (e.g. FNV3.x), leading alignments on Semantic Versioning and software containerization.

  • Serve as the Technical Lead for Software FSA Workstreams, providing software release process guidance.

3. Strategic Partner & Oversight

  • Act as the primary lead for the Qualified Calibration Modifier (QCM) process.

  • Collaborate directly with Legal counsel to draft and negotiate complex contracts defining the parameters between the company and external technical partners.

You'll have...

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

  • Experience: 8+ years in automotive engineering with contributions in embedded software integration, release management, or propulsion systems.

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Deep understanding of propulsion control systems, OBD requirements, and calibration lifecycles.

    • Experience with automated software build toolchains, cloud-based delivery, and vehicle electrical architecture.

    • Expertise in GPDS processes and managing external supplier technical delivery.

  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through production-level crises, gating issues, and complex product launches.

Even better, you may have...

  • Advanced mastery of JIRA for workflow architecture and partner management.

  • Direct experience with DevSecOps, software containerization, and Lean engineering principles.

  • Experience managing high-pressure escalations involving executive-level reviews.

  • A track record of delivering measurable efficiency gains through "continuous improvement" initiatives.
