Our Potential Opportunity

INTECH Automation Intelligence is seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager with 12+ years of experience in managing and controlling technical and engineering activities for control systems and DCS/PLC/SCADA packages, instrumentation packages, and field instrumentation projects. The Project Controls Manager will be responsible for overseeing the technical delivery of the project within schedule, ensuring the project meets all technical, financial, and schedule objectives.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in process control and automation Systems, and will be highly skilled in planning, coordinating, and resolving engineering problems related to EPC projects. This role requires someone who is adept at ensuring the technical integrity of projects, meeting project milestones, and achieving cost efficiency.

What You’ll Lead and Deliver:

  • Lead and oversee the overall technical execution of the project, ensuring the project is delivered on time and within budget, meeting all technical specifications.
  • Develop and implement detailed project plans and schedules, coordinating technical and engineering activities to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Collect and analyze technical information, research feasible solutions, and adapt or modify engineering techniques to resolve challenges in an economically viable manner.
  • Make informed decisions regarding engineering techniques, prepare and approve detailed drawings, schematics, and technical diagrams to ensure alignment with project needs.
  • Track project progress, monitor key milestones, and ensure timely communication of essential information to all stakeholders. Provide regular updates on project performance, open issues, and action items.
  • Identify and escalate any project completion impediments, ensuring swift resolution of any technical or scheduling challenges that may affect project delivery.
  • Work closely with project teams, engineers, and management to ensure that technical challenges are addressed, and the project team is fully supported in meeting project goals.
  • Ensure that all project controls systems are in place to monitor and manage project costs, identifying opportunities for cost-saving measures without compromising quality.

Requirements

To Be Successful in This Role, You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related field).
  • 12+ years of experience in project controls and management for EPC projects, with a strong focus on control systems and DCS/PLC/SCADA packages and instrumentation packages
  • Proven experience managing project controls for complex EPC projects in the oil and gas or industrial sectors, with a specific focus on control systems and DCS/PLC/SCADA packages especially Schneider related systems like Foxboro DCS and Triconex ESD systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large, complex project schedules, ensure cost efficiency, and deliver projects within agreed timelines.
  • Hands-on experience in working with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve project technical issues.
  • Experience in integrating technical, schedule, and cost controls to drive successful project outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, and cost management principles in the context of EPC projects.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for process control and automation systems
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or other equivalent tools.
  • PMP certification or other project management certifications are a plus.
  • Proficiency in project controls methodologies, including scheduling, cost control, risk management, and progress tracking.
  • Strong understanding of the design and operation of control systems and DCS/PLC/SCADA packages especially Schneider Foxboro DCS and Triconex ESD Systems.
  • Proven ability to collect, analyze, and resolve engineering issues by adapting engineering techniques and recommending viable solutions.
  • Proficient in preparing detailed drawings, schematics, and technical diagrams, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project specifications.
  • Experience in monitoring project performance and providing updates on progress, identifying potential issues, and recommending corrective actions

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively with engineering, procurement, and project management departments to ensure project success.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for providing clear project updates and managing technical discussions with clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with both internal and external teams, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Ability to manage multiple technical tasks and projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Attention to detail in managing technical documentation, project schedules, and cost reports.
