Job Description

The Coastal Engineering and Management Team of SJ and SMEC are looking for a Project Controls Manager with prior experience in land reclamation development project with the following qualifications:

Key Accountability 1 Ensure that planning, reporting, project controlling, scheduling and resource planning undertaken meets appropriate technical standards and the requirements of the client and SMEC.

Key Accountability 2: Proactively collaborate with appropriate team members, contributors and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness and co-ordination of project deliverables.

Key Accountability 3: Contribute to the commercial success of projects and the team.

Formal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Civil Engineering) or Equivalent
  • Preferably Masters in management degree or project management course.

Skills / Knowledge

  • Demonstrated leadership ability;
  • High level knowledge on project control and strong technical foundation;
  • Business planning, budgeting and commercial acumen;
  • High level consulting and client management skills;
  • Proven high level project management skills;
  • An understanding of the business / organisation / marketing context of business solutions;
  • High level of client service orientation;
  • Good national industry awareness and market knowledge;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a diverse and multi-disciplinary environment;
  • Skilled in managing a co-operative and flexible work style to work in a team environment;
  • Ability to source and apply new knowledge including industry information and key talent;
  • Highly skilled in managing competing priorities and working under pressure;
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in a variety of relevant computer programs.
