Job Description

Req ID:528086

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Could you be the full-time Project Contract Manager in Toronto we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your contract management expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dynamic, collaborative, and solution-oriented teammates.

You'll play a pivotal role in safeguarding Alstom’s contractual and commercial interests while enabling successful project delivery. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (engineering, operations, finance, legal, and project delivery), develop and implement proactive strategies for claims and contract amendments, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of managing contractual correspondence, notices, and claim documentation, but also support negotiations and protect Alstom’s commercial interests.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Leading contract and claims management activities throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, Alstom governance, and project requirements
  • Developing and implementing strategies related to claims, variation orders, contract amendments, and extensions of time (EoTs)
  • Monitoring project performance against contractual commitments and identifying risks and opportunities
  • Providing contractual guidance to support project success
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to resolve complex contractual challenges

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Degree in law, business, engineering, or a related field
  • Experience or understanding of contract and claims management within complex project, infrastructure, transportation, or industrial environments
  • Knowledge of interpreting, negotiating, and applying contractual terms and conditions
  • Familiarity with managing contractual risks, opportunities, and change management activities
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in dynamic project environments

Compensation

The expected compensation for this role is $102,000 – $134,000 CAD per year, plus benefits and eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and internal equity.

Use of Artificial Intelligence in Hiring

We do not use artificial intelligence in the recruiting process for this role.

Interview Process & Candidate Communication

Candidates who participate in an interview for this role will be informed of the hiring decision within 45 days of their final interview date.

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
