Duties, Responsibilities & Other

Project Closeout Specialist (Remote) Part-Time

Join our team as a Project Closeout Specialist supporting telecom project closeouts in a flexible, production-based remote role designed for detail-oriented, self-driven professionals.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Closeout Specialist to support the final closeout of telecom projects. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, analytical, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment. The Project Assistant will play a key role in ensuring projects are accurately completed, properly coded, and successfully closed out in both internal and customer systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review final engineering and construction packages to ensure all CPR units are accurately captured for project closeout
  • Verify correct coding to ensure costs are allocated to the appropriate accounting categories
  • Process projects ready for closeout and move them through required workflows using Smartsheet
  • Track and follow up on open items to ensure timely and complete project closeout
  • Update customer systems to finalize and complete project closeouts

Qualifications

  • Prior working knowledge of OSP / ISP engineering principles required
  • Understanding of telecom accounting principles
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret and manage multiple project types and requirements
  • Experience with Smartsheet or similar project tracking tools (preferred)

  • Dependable with the ability to manage workload and meet deadlines in a production-based environment
  • Strong communication and quality control skills
  • Self-disciplined and comfortable working remotely
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to complete work within assigned timeframes

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (telecom, project coordination, accounting, or related field)
  • High school diploma is required, bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote work environment

Compensation

This is a non-exempt position compensated using a production-based pay model. Compensation is tied to completed project closeout units; however, all hours worked must be accurately recorded in accordance with company policy and applicable wage and hour laws.

  • This is a part-time, project closeout based, remote position
  • Pre-employment drug screening is required
  • Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based on position
