Project-Based Accountant (3-Month Contract)

Johannesburg

Contract Duration: ±3 months (with possible extension)

An opportunity is available for a Project-Based Accountant to assist with clearing a backlog of outstanding Annual Financial Statements (AFS) across multiple entities.

This is a hands-on, deadline-driven role suited to candidates who can work independently and deliver under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  Prepare and finalise outstanding AFS
• 
  Perform reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records
• 
  Collect and verify supporting documentation
• 
  Assist with audit-related requirements
• 
  Ensure compliance with accounting standards

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

• 
  Diploma or Degree in Accounting / Finance / Auditing / Commerce

Technical Skills

• 
  Strong understanding of accounting principles
• 
  Knowledge of financial statements and internal controls
• 
  Familiarity with audit processes
• 
  Strong reconciliation skills

Software

• 
  Advanced Microsoft Excel (essential)
• 
  Microsoft Word & Outlook
• 
  MDA (non-negotiable)

Experience

• 
  Experience within a finance department
• 
  Audit firm experience advantageous
