Your Role
As a Gensler Project ArchitectforCritical Facilities, Industrialand Life Sciencesin Gensler's Columbus office, you will collaborate with our Practice Area Leaders and Design Directors to develop design solutions as well as coordinate the design through the construction documentation phase of a project. What You Will Do
Collaborate on design projects in the critical facilities, industrialand life sciences,including programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development,and documentation
Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives
Documentation coordination with consultants (structural, MEP, lighting, AV,acoustical, accessibility, building envelope, life safety, etc.)
Assistin resolving complex technical and design issues
Assistin managing client expectations, team communication, and consultant coordination
Provide project team coordination for the finished plans, specifications, and material selectionsrequiredfor construction
Participate in the construction administration of projects and review of submittals and finish samples
Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs
Your Qualifications
Bachelor's degree Bachelor’s orMaster’s degree in Architecturefrom a professionally accredited program
Licensure required
10+ years of experience in the profession of architectural design
Experience within Critical Facilities projects (i.e.data centers, command and control centers, high-performance computing, etc.) or similarly complex projects(i.e.science/labs/national labs, light-industrial/manufacturing, high-tech manufacturing,healthcare,aviation & transportation, etc.) preferred
Proficiencywith SketchUp, 3D Max, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred, but notrequired
Strong Revit, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Microsoft Office experience desired. AutoCAD, Sketchup, Rhino,Enscape,VRayalsobeneficial
Experience managing multiple aspects of client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, and civil consultants
Experience working directly with contractors
Experience inresolving complex technical and design issues
Experience performing zoning and code analysis in multiplejurisdictions
Understanding of how buildings are constructed, along with the ability to create technical documents that succinctly, thoroughly, and accurately describe the work to be done
Understanding of sustainable and universal design concepts
Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship management skills
Previousexperience in sustainable design projectsis preferableEspeciallybuilt projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard,Fitwel,and /or Net Zero Building certification
