Working within a team environment, the Analyst is responsible for executing tasks assigned by the IS Project Manager/lead. The Analyst executes the tasks assigned to him/her by following established policies and procedures, and with the guidance of the IS Project Manager/Senior Analyst/ Supervisor who assists the Analyst with the scheduling and prioritizing of work and who reviews the work, upon completion, for soundness of judgment and overall quality of work, ie, adequacy and accuracy
The Analyst is typically assigned routine to moderately complex assignments of short duration, which are either smaller initiatives within a larger strategic project where the scope is well defined, or are operational assignments, which include tasks having to do with the testing, modification or upgrading of existing applications/systems or with the data analysis and reporting or with the monitoring of projects
Assignments typically require the Analyst to function as a Business Systems Analyst in a support role who supports all project activities related to the selection and implementation of information systems and technology.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•An undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Health Informatics, Clinical Discipline or related field
•Entry level to 3 years of work experience in a related field
•Basic project management knowledge and experience working on projects and/or basic working knowledge of applications/systems that support client groups, in such areas as Health Care, Pharmaceutical, Finance, Human Resources, Telecommunications, etc
•Experience in healthcare an asset
•Thorough understanding of complex technical and operational concepts, principles and practices essential
•Experience in facilitation of application design sessions
•Excellent analytical, conceptual, verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of technical and non-technical staff
•A strong influencer with the ability to build consensus by listening and understanding different points of view, proposing acceptable alternatives and shape people’s opinions
•A creative thinker who excels in time-sensitive, ambiguous and/or complex situations
•A team player committed to team and project success
