Position: Project Analyst (Deltek Vantagepoint Specialist)

& RESPONSIBILITIES

The Project Analyst will play a key role in supporting project delivery, operational excellence, and strategic decision‑making across the organization. This position requires deep expertise in Deltek Vantagepoint, particularly in report development, dashboard creation, and project management workflows. As a Project Analyst, you will collaborate closely with company leadership and project managers, leveraging your analytical skills to optimize processes, deliver insights, and drive consistent adoption of best practices.

Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

Deltek Vantagepoint Expertise

  • Develop, customize, and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytics within Deltek Vantagepoint to support operational visibility and strategic decision-making.
  • Serve as the internal subject-matter expert (SME) for the Vantagepoint platform’s project-management features, reporting tools, and configuration capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot Vantagepoint issues and collaborate with internal teams and vendors to resolve system-related problems.


Project Management Support

  • Analyze project performance metrics (profitability, schedules, budgets, utilization, resource allocation) and provide actionable insights to project managers and leadership.
  • Ensure consistent application of the company’s project‑management standards, workflows, and methodologies.
  • Evaluate project data for accuracy, identify risks or anomalies, and recommend corrective actions.


Training and Enablement

  • Provide ongoing training, coaching, and guidance to project managers and operational staff on how to effectively use Deltek Vantagepoint.
  • Develop training materials, documentation, and best practice guides to support platform adoption.
  • Assist in onboarding new team members on project‑management processes and system usage.


Strategic Process Improvement

  • Partner with leadership to review and refine project‑management processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and long‑term strategy.
  • Recommend enhancements to system configuration, workflows, and reporting to improve operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to cross‑functional initiatives that require strong analytical, communication, and change‑management skills.
  • Leverage Deltek Vantagepoint to oversee project budgets, schedules, resource assignments, and performance tracking.
  • Align process improvement to strategic organizational objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Accounting or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Five plus years’ experience working with dashboard development, analytics and reporting.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience using Deltek Vantagepoint as a primary tool, with a strong emphasis on report creation, dashboard building, and analytics.
  • Solid understanding of project management principles, including project lifecycles, budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to collaborate effectively with leaders, peers and project teams.
  • Ability to effectively build consensus and work effectively across the organization.
  • Capable of delivering clear training, documentation, and executive‑level insights.
  • Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills with the ability to translate data into insights.
  • Experience guiding users through complex systems.
  • Travel: May include up to 25% domestic travel, as needed.

Preferred

  • Experience in professional services, engineering, architecture, construction, or similar project‑driven industries.
  • Familiarity with process‑improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
  • Prior experience delivering training and developing instructional materials a plus. Prior involvement in system implementations, upgrades, or platform optimization initiatives.
  • Experience with Power BI is a plus.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000 annually.The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual qualifications, experience, work location, and education. This position is eligible for an annual bonus.
