  • Review wage types, payroll configurations, processing logic, and system data to understand current state against legislative requirements
  • Engage with Payroll, HR Systems, Industrial Relations, site-based teams, and operational stakeholders to understand wage type purpose and business context
  • Analyse payroll and system data to identify risks, anomalies, control gaps, and configuration issues
  • Maintain high-quality project documentation, working papers, evidence repositories, and decision logs
  • Support remediation activities through clear analysis and handover of findings to remediation teams
  • Escalate risks, issues, and dependencies to support effective project delivery

This is a highly visible role where you will contribute to a strategically important project focused on strengthening payroll compliance, governance, and operational effectiveness across Downer's People Services environment.

  • Experience gathering, interpreting, and documenting information from systems, data, processes, and stakeholders
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to identify risks, inconsistencies, and opportunities for process improvement
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a project environment

You will also have:

  • Experience within payroll, compliance, assurance, HR systems, finance, risk, audit, or related functions
  • Experience supporting projects through analysis, documentation, issue identification, and reporting
  • Understanding of payroll processes, employment obligations, industrial instruments, and compliance considerations
  • Experience with payroll reviews, wage types, pay codes, payroll configuration, or remediation activities (highly desirable)
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
