Position Summary

We are seeking a Project Accountant to join Concert’s Development Finance Accounting team in Vancouver. The successful candidate will provide accounting and reporting support to the Development Finance team and take an energetic, detail-oriented approach to a broad range of responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly funding requests and construction loan draws, ensuring that complete and accurate information is provided to all funding partners. Maintain and monitor loan balances, deposit insurance balances, and related interest.
• Review accounts payable and assist in maintaining up-to-date, complete and accurate accounts payable and project costing records.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting by preparing required schedules and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate with Sales and Marketing teams to prepare and maintain reports and schedules related to sales documentation, purchaser deposits, mortgage approvals, and commission payments.
• Update the property tax assessment and property tax notice tracker and coordinate with Corporate Accounting to ensure all property taxes are paid in a timely manner.
• Assist the Senior Accountant in liaising with external legal counsel and Sales staff to support an accurate and timely sales-closing process.
• Prepare monthly project-level accounting information and financial reports, including trial balance reviews, general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and variance and ratio analysis.
• Support the development, documentation, and implementation of the accounts payable digital transformation strategy and related process improvements.
• Review and document departmental processes and procedures, and recommend improvements where appropriate.
• Assist the Senior Accountant in preparing project status reports for straightforward, stand-alone projects.
• Support development and construction teams with commitment setup and ad hoc reporting.
• Other accounting duties as required.

Required Knowledge & Skills

• At least two years of general accounting experience; experience in real estate development or construction is preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work through thorough self-review.
• Solid oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience with Yardi is a plus.
• Collaborative team player with a willingness to support colleagues as needed.
• Curious and enthusiastic, with the desire and aptitude to learn, grow, and progress professionally in a supportive environment.
