Project Accountant

The Opportunity

The company is looking for a Project Accountant who can step in and own the billing cycle with confidence. There is also a meaningful long-term growth path for the right candidate.

What You Will Do

• Manage monthly progress billing on 15-20 lump-sum construction contracts plus service orders
• Submit invoices to clients and upload supporting documentation to internal systems
• Prepare trial balance and aging reports
• Coordinate with field operations to collect percentage-of-completion data
• Work with the estimating team to establish schedules of values, process change orders, and update progress tracking reports
• Reconcile change orders back to the schedule of values

What We Are Looking For

• 2-3+ years of experience as a Project Accountant in construction (subcontracting preferred)
• Hands-on experience with progress/percentage-completion billing and lien releases
• Familiarity with schedules of values and change order accounting
• Background in a prevailing wage or union-shop environment is a strong plus (plumbing, mechanical, electrical, fire sprinkler, roofing, or similar)
• Experience with Viewpoint, Trimble, Oracle Tara, and/or Procore preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; Associate's degree with strong relevant experience considered
• Collaborative, communicative, and comfortable in a fully open-concept office
• Someone who takes ownership of their role and wants to grow with a company long-term

Schedule & Location

• Fully on-site in San Jose to start
• Preferred hours: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (some flexibility available)
