Your Role

As a Gensler Project Accountant,you will manage the fulllifecycleof assigned projects from contract review and billing setup to invoicing, reporting and accountsreceivableYou willbe successful in this rolebecause you are highly organized, detail-orientedand passionate about ensuring the financialhealth of projectsWorking in close partnership with Design Managers and project teams, you will help ensure our work is not only exceptional in design, but also financiallysound

What You Will Do

  • Review project contracts andestablishappropriate billingterms and invoiceformats

  • Interpret financial data in contracts and billings and accurately convey them

  • Collaborate with Design Managers,Clients,andConsultantsto discuss billingorfinancial issues

  • Prepare and process invoicesin accordance withcontractualtermsand monthly accounting deadlines

  • Managesub-consultantPurchase Ordersandinvoicingthrough Coupa

  • Retrieve and matchreimbursables expenses toinvoices where necessary

  • Follow-up withClients on Accounts Receivable

  • Maintain andmonitorproject-specific budgets,backlogand financial reports to ensure project financial health.

  • Meet regularly with Design Managers and Studio Directors to reviewbilling,unbilledlaborand collectionmatters

  • Prepare journal entries andreconcile balance sheetaccounts

  • Developanunderstandingof thefirm’saccounting software so that you are seen as an expert and a resource to staff

  • Cross-trainandworkcloselywith team membersso that we function as a cohesive and high performing team

  • Assistthe team with any ad-hoc projectsand financial analysis as needed

Your Qualifications

  • 5+years’ experiencein Project Accounting and Sales Ledger

  • Associates Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or similar

  • Highly organized, detail oriented witha high levelof accuracy

  • Experience of dealing with international currencies,exchange ratesand understanding of VAT

  • Experience in ArchitecturalandEngineeringindustry or a professional services firm preferred

  • Well writtenwith excellent verbal communication skills

  • Able to respond to vendors,consultantsand staff ina timelyand professional manner

  • Must be able to prioritize and meet deadlines

  • Proactive, able to work effectively in a team environment andproblem solve

  • Proficient in Excel, experiencewithDeltekand/or Coupa software a plus
