Job Description

Mikayla’s Voice is hiring a Programs and Outreach Coordinator responsible for planning and executing school-based programs. The coordinator will ensure that all programs are delivered with high quality, comply with relevant standards, and align with the organization’s mission.

Mikayla’s Voice is a nonprofit organization offering inclusive programming in the arts, education, and sports. The organization’s current priorities include school wide assemblies, Wheels of Friendship® art program, Kaya’s Kaleidoscope art projects, and supporting a mentor program in schools from kindergarten through 12th grade. Program participants serve as ambassadors for Mikayla’s Voice, helping to communicate its message and mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead assemblies in school buildings and present to large groups
  • Utilize Mikayla’s Voice books, PowerPoints, and videos during assemblies
  • Act as a liaison with the building principal and special education staff
  • Prepare canvases and materials for art production and deliver these materials to participating schools
  • Facilitate a class art project (Wheels of Friendship® or Kaya’s Kaleidoscope) ensuring participation of individuals with and without disabilities
  • Present and discuss mentoring activities with interested middle and high school students
  • Take photographs and obtain permission from school administration when necessary

Position Details:

  • Casual/Per Diem position
  • Work hours are during school hours, 7:30am – 3:30pm
  • Compensation is $30 per hour

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or higher in education or a related field; Personal experience may be substituted for educational requirements
  • Strong organizational skills for planning, scheduling, and follow-up.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license with daily access to a privately maintained and insured vehicle
  • Successful completion of the pre-employment process, including clearances and verifications
