Agency OverviewThe Supreme Court of Ohio is seeking to fill the position of Programmer- IT Applications at an entry- to intermediate- level. Under the mentorship of a programmer/analyst and the supervision of the IT Deputy Director of Application Development the Programmer designs, develops, implements, and maintains software that provides service to the Supreme Court of Ohio and it partners.

Job Description

What You'll Do:Collaboration: Collaborate with project management team to refine technical software requirements.

Software Development: Create products to visualize and communicate software designs. Efficiently develop software solutions in accordance with project requirements using modern development technologies and JavaScript libraries, either individually or as part of a team. Provide effective resources and time estimates for designed solutions.

Documentation: Create technical documentation to support the maintenance of developed solutions.

Source Code Management: Track and manage source code changes in a team environment using source control management tools.

Database Design: Collaborate with database administrators and other analysts to design and create database structures including tables, procedures, views, and functions.

Quality Assurance: Thoroughly test software solutions for reliability.

Software Support: Monitor the operation of software solutions, provide support to end users, and develop software patches ensuring proper operation.

Training: Train and support court staff members in the use of developed applications.

Code Review: Through code review, ensure that software products adhere to best practices.

IT Liaison: Work under supervision as an IT liaison to designated court offices.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science or related discipline.
  • One to two years of experience in an applications development discipline preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft development technologies.
  • Preference given for experience developing and managing in Microsoft development technologies and Microsoft SQL databases.Data Analytics: Skill in interpreting and leveraging data insights.

Programming Acumen (Basic to Intermediate): Understands fundamental programming concepts and tools; applies them effectively with or without guidance.

Communication: Demonstrates exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.

Attention to Detail: Ability to be efficient, organized, and exhibit a high level of attention to detail to create a work product with a minimum number of errors.

Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with others, including colleagues, departments, and external partners, to achieve common goals and enhance organizational performance.

Supplemental InformationThis is an exempt unclassified position that reports to the IT Deputy Director of Application Development. The starting salary range is $76,000.00-$96,000.00 commensurate with experience.Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application. The Supreme Court of Ohio does not currently provide employment-based immigration sponsorship for this position.
