Job Role / Responsibilities: The Programmer Analyst position requires a person possessing relevant academics qualifications and/or experience in the field of computer software development. You are expected to analyze, program, maintain and manage software applications and their development through all phases of system development life cycle. Specifically, you will be responsible to; the scope of work for the position will include University wide i.e. AKU Global ERP operations and expansion, ERP support and implementation within the University and all its affiliates in any countrycreate and maintain software applications and gain knowledge of the existing applications, both the technical and business aspectsparticipate in all phases of application development, i.e. study, analysis, design, development, and implementationdevelop excellent understanding and application of Data Modelling and Data Analysis Techniqueslearn Software Development Tools in use e.g. PeopleTools and People Codeefficiently produce and maintain requirements and application systems documentationparticipate in quality assurance and testing of productsprepare self-development plan in coordination with the immediate supervisorundertake activities for continuous professional development in line with the plan and keep abreast of latest developments in the professionoperate within practices and procedures for smooth functioning of all operational services as per quality standardsliaison with others / Sections /Departments for delivery of the resultswork on special assignments given by the supervisor/manager
Eligibility Criteria / Requirements: a formal and recognized degree in Computer Science or related disciplines such as Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, MBA in MIS etc.candidate without formal recognized degrees possessing extensive experience in computer programming would also be eligible for this position0 – 2 years of related prior professional experienceAbility to understand and effectively use data modelling and analysis techniques.ability to grasp, analyze and document business requirements with some level of independencecome up with well thought out solutions and prepare modification specifications independentlyability to demonstrate new approaches and thinks before actingability to break down concrete issues into parts and synthesizes succinctly along with collecting and analysing information from a variety of appropriate sourcesability to identify client need and expectations and responds to requests efficiently and effectively while takes action beyond explicit request within established service standards. Able to meet client needs in a respectful, helpful and responsive manner and seek feedback to develop a clear understanding of client needs and outcomesability to listen actively and objectively and present appropriate information in a clear and concise manner, both orally and in writingability to make straight forward decisions based on pre-defined options using clear criteria/proceduresability to recognize and act on present issues as well as offer ideas to address current situations or issues. Able to work independently and complete assignments without constant supervisionability to complete tasks in accordance with plans and sets priorities for tasks in order of importanceability to set goals and works to meet established expectations and adapts working methods in order to achieve objectivesability to give support to co-workers and works collaboratively rather than competitively as well as share experiences, knowledge and best practices with team members.
